As usual, every October I panic and fret about NaNoWriMo. In 2009, I won. In 2010 I couldn't get past 7k and now, I'm unsure if I'll be able to do it because of my own abilities to doubt and my own anxiety about life. So, I'll do this meme to see if I can force myself to try.
Working Title: Somewhere in Between or Never Forget.
WIP Genre: Drama, maybe a little romance- I haven't decided yet.
Projected Word Count: Hopefully, it'll hit 50k. Lately, everything I've been writing hasn't gotten past the 30 to 40k mark.
AT THE START: DO YOU:
Have an outline? Define 'outline'. I have some notes in my writing journal about what I think COULD happen, some stuff I want include like lines, characters, etc
Scene-by-scene? I know a couple of scenes that HAVE to be in there. But otherwise, not really.
Know how it starts? I got an idea, but I don't know if I'll use it yet.
Know how it ends? Again, I have a projected ending but it could change..
Have your climax in order? Yup- everything goes down around the school culture fest!
Know your main characters yet? I know them pretty well but they could use some work.
Have a particular tone in mind? I'm hoping for a drama kind of feeling, you know? It deals with serious topics such as abuse, death and loss but there should be an element of hope.
Plan to draw on your own experiences? I might, because although I haven't experienced the same pain, I know what emotional pain is and how it feels. I can relate and draw from that.
IS YOUR WORK GOING TO BE:
Funny? Probably not, maybe a dryer, wittier humour but dark if anything.
Serious? Definitely
Sad? Probabaly.
Semi-Autobiographical? No, not really. Maybe someone else's life but not mine.
Based on another story? Not really.
HOW HAVE MUCH YOU PLANNED? HAVE YOU USED:
A paper journal? I'm using mostly my electronic writing journal (AKA a word document entitled 'writing journal'.
Pens? I don't really like pens
Multicoloured pens? If you mean markers, then, yeah, probably.
A computer? Perhaps even several if mine can't survive the intensity that is the 2k a day marathon next month
Index cards? I have some, but I doubt I'll use them.
Bulleted lists? Maybe
Plot Charts? Uh, if they're useful/ if I find out what they are and can find them
Character Charts? Sure. They might be useful.
Character formulas? Formulas?
Favourite writing resource? NaNo website, LJ, my Stumbleupon favourites,
ODDS AND ENDS:
A line you would like to use: "Just admit it: you're lost!" (From FF13 if you go to the very very end of the Yaschif Massif map, Fang will say this)
A scene you would like to include: One of my main characters yelling profanities at a boy out a window.
A concept you would like to explore: I haven't written about female friendships in a long time, so that for sure.
A cliché you would like to avoid? School girl lesbians . . .
A character you would like to use: Two, actually: a prostitute and a clown.
FORWARD THINKING:
Do you expect to be able to complete it? Not without a fight first. If I can't seem to do it during NaNo, maybe I will later this academic year.
Do you intend to complete it? Yes. I really would like to.
Would you ever try to publish it? Uh . . . Maybe one day?
What do you expect to get out of this month of frantic writing? A really bad first draft and a lot of frantic writing.
Okay, on the LJ side of things, there is a lot of fic I gotta post. A lot of it is about a year or so old (argh so behind!!)
-How to Make the Track Team
Practically completed! I just gotta finish up part ten and post the remaining parts.
-Lightning/Hope Request fics
They're all done but I gotta post them. And for some reason, the formatting is weird.
-Lightning/Hope fics in general
I just wrote a little drabble/ oneshot thingy so . . .yeah. And I have a drabble from the FF13 Kink comm that I could post (it's not even remotely sexual)
