Title: Forbidden Flame (part 3)
Pairing: HanHae
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Donghae was just a plaything who was bought to please.  And it’s not even fun when he falls for the one who paid to keep him, who also vowed never to love.

Earlier that day-

“Donghae right?”

“What?”

“Your pet- the boy whom you bought three months ago, the name’s Donghae right?”

Hangeng narrowed his eyes at his new investment partner, a young man who totally fits the criteria of a scalawag who only knows how to be a perfect wastrel. His family business was even more influential than Hangeng’s. Well, that would be so for him too if his family, besides marking territories with their hotels, owned a gun factory and made deals with the darker part of society. It makes him a teeny bit of nervous just by thinking that they’ll be working quite closely together on their upcoming project. “Why?”

The young man laughed then, a sound Hangeng was coming to hate. “He’s kinda cute.”

Hangeng remained expressionless. “And how did you know that?” He put the wine glass down and leaned back on his chair. Crossing his legs and putting his hands in front of him as he stared right into the eyes of his partner, who shrugged and considered his question. “About a week ago, I saw him at your office.” He smiled widely, revealing a set of neat white teeth. “I like him.”

Hangeng’s mouth twitched and both men just looked at each other in thick silence. The only thing heard was the soft music playing in the background of the private lounge. It was a few intense moment later when Hangeng finally spoke again. His airy chuckle in accompany to his icy tone. “Who doesn’t?”

Hearing that, the other man smirked. “Bring him in tomorrow for our weekly conference.” And with that, he stood from his seat and turned. The men who have been standing near their table throughout followed the young man before he called out. “Drink’s on the house.”

Staring straight ahead as he hesitantly puts the wine glass to his lips, Hangeng gripped the slender neck tightly before downing the alcohol in one gulp.

Don’t. You even think about it.

“Oh, what’s that?” Donghae asked the air as he spotted the photo that peeked out quite evidently of Hangeng’s pocket planner. He regretted it as soon as he pulled the picture out though. She’s beautiful-the young man mused. Short auburn hair, cheeks that pinked so prettily, her lips stretched into a sunbeam smile, and those eyes that looked right into your soul even in the photo, makes it hard to not fall for her.

Donghae felt his heart skipped a beat when he turned the photo and read the words scribbled in Hangeng’s own handwriting.

I miss you…

Donghae sat looking out of the car window. He was still thinking about the photo he’d discovered just moments ago, before Hangeng joined him in the car. Whoever the girl in the picture was to him, Hangeng definitely still misses her. So what is Donghae to him? Why did Hangeng even bother to claim him as his yesterday night when all he could thinking about all this while, was her? His heart clenched tightly at the thought and he felt stupid for still hoping that there could just be a tiny possibility that Donghae meant something to Hangeng.

His eyes swept the sights of the glorious city and the early morning beauty of simply everything. He’s going to work with Hangeng today, to simply just sit in to listen and be by his side. That’s what Hangeng had lamely explained, but Donghae knew better than to believe the lie in those words. Something must be up, because he never follows Hangeng to work. Why the sudden order to do so?

“We’re here.” Hangeng voice reached his ears in the silent car. For some reason, Donghae just can’t help feeling uneasy about this whole ‘sit in to listen’ trip to the man’s company.

More and more people shuffled into the huge conference room as Donghae sat beside Hangeng, observing. The other man was scanning through the file laid in front of him with a frown set deeply in between his brows, and Donghae just had the tiniest urge to do the same in concern over him.

People were polite as they greeted the younger man when they saw him. Smiling and nodding his head in acknowledgement, Donghae knew he should really start worrying when a sudden voice from someone set Hangeng’s frown even deeper into his skin.

“Donghae!”

Said person turned towards the call of his name. His expression was blank as he tried desperately to recall who the person was.

Nope, no such person in his memory-

So he tried a weak smile instead. “Hi.”

“Hello there, cutie. What a surprise, really nice of you to drop by.”

Whoever the man was, he definitely did not look like he’d fit into the conference with Hangeng and everyone else. The elder had spoken to him of a new investment project-so this must be the new partner then. Donghae scoffed mentally at the unpleasant image the young man presented.

“So,” The man announced as he sat down on the other side of Hangeng. “What do we have this morning?”

“Nothing much,” Hangeng muttered in reply. “The project’s going pretty well. The land deed is done and signed for and construction may begin soon.” He looked up at everyone before turning his head towards the other man. Pulling a tight smile, “You have anything to add?”

The man considered dramatically, tapping his finger against his chin. “Not really.” Sliding his chair backwards and leaning sloppily back, “Okay then, meeting adjourned.” With that, everyone started packing and soon, the room was just left with only the three of them.

He wanted to say something when his phone went off. Hangeng bit back a curse and excused himself. “I’ll be back soon.” He patted Donghae’s shoulder.

“Dad,” Hangeng answered the call as soon as he stood out of the room.

“He likes the pet.”

“I know, he told me.” Hangeng gritted his teeth as he looked at Donghae smile and blush at whatever the other man had said to him. His breath fogged up the glass before his nose and he wiped it away casually, not wanting to get his view obstructed. Whatever his father was talking about on the other side of the line became muted as he watched the two communicate. Donghae was smiling-he was laughing even. Only then did he realise that… Hangeng had actually never seen the younger man smile like he was doing now. The other man was a total stranger to Donghae and yet, he looked so relaxed and at ease with him. Hangeng frowned, but that was before his father’s voice suddenly became audible and went through him like a bullet.

“What?!” He nearly shouted.

“I said give Donghae to him so that he would be willing to persuade his father to invest in more of our projects.”

“No,” That was all that Hangeng could say.

“…”

“Geng, are you trying to defy me? My words are final and you’ll do just that.”

“I will never do that.”

“Don’t be stubborn. He’s just a pet, and don’t you dare talk to me like that.”

“He, dad, is NOT just a pet. He is MY pet-and no one is allowed to have him except me.” Hangeng hung up before his father could say anymore. He could deal with hell later, but right now, he needs to get Donghae away from the other man’s lecherous paws.

“DONGHAE-“ Hangeng barked and grabbed the young man’s wrist at the same time. He pulled him up to his feet and led him straight out of the room, not bothering to even look back when his partner called out to him.

“Hangeng,” Donghae was trying hard to keep up with the man in front of him as he stalked towards his office. Everyone scattered out of their way when they saw the raging storm in the young heir’s face, knowing better than to stand in his way right now. Donghae sympathised with the secretary when Hangeng shouted at the lady to make sure no one comes looking for him within the next hour or so.

He yelped when he was shoved into the office, jumping a little when the door slammed behind them. Hangeng turned to quickly slide the lock into place before stalking towards Donghae and hauling him over his shoulder.

He heard a clatter. “What-“ He was unable to complete his sentence when he was sat on Hangeng’s suddenly empty desk. The other man pulled him under the knees and slid him forward so that he was sitting on the edge with him standing in between his legs.

Their faces were so close and Hangeng was breathing deeply as he bored into the younger man’s eyes-his hands gripping either side of his thighs. Donghae, on the other hand, had his eyes wide opened, still trying to comprehend what just happened-hands against the elder’s chest.

“Did I not tell you that you’re mine?” Hangeng growled out. The expression in his face almost scared Donghae as this was the first time he was seeing the ever cool man lose his temper.

“Y-yes,”

He watched the anger contort the other’s handsome face and gasped when a hand wrapped around his neck. “Good,” Hangeng barely touched his lips to one of his eyelids. “Remember, you’re mine.”

“Yes,” Donghae breathed and closed his eyes when the other met him in a passionate kiss. His hands slid up to tangle in Hangeng’s soft hair. He made a little sound at the back of his throat when the elder yanked him nearer to the edge and brought their fronts flushed together. Donghae wrapped his legs around Hangeng’s waist on instinct. It always amazes the younger man just how much he wants the other and how quickly he reacts to him.

Hangeng broke the kiss and the younger man nearly whimpered. He gave Donghae’s upper lip a light nip before kissing the tip of his nose. “I’ll send you home now, we can continue with this at night.”

Donghae panted and nodded against a forehead. “Okay.”

… I’m yours, but are you mine?
