Pairing: HanHae

Genre: Romance, angst
Summary: We all need a little helping hand every now and then...
“WHY!” Hankyung screamed and let the roaring of waves swallow his emotions as he wept uncontrollably. He heaved and bellowed again into the thunder-like yell from nature before collapsing onto the jagged edges of the cliff underneath him.
Hankyung bit his lower lip and tried to control the onslaught of emotions coursing through his very soul. His heart is aching… so much so that he had to clutch his hand to where his life beats rhythmically, and that still didn’t seem enough to ease the pain.
Hiccups started seizing him and that was when he gradually stopped crying as he caught his breath. He heaved at the effort and stared out into the unbounded sea. He had spent most of his childhood here and the serenity of it was what mesmerised him in the first place. Strangely so, it looked different now. The waves no longer beat playfully against the edges of the cliff, but whipped onto them in an angry lash. The response was no longer a clap of mischief, but it came as a deep rumble that vibrated to where Hankyung was sitting in an awkward fashion. Like him, they were angry too.
Slender arms suddenly enveloped him in a warm cocoon as a familiar chest pressed itself against his face. Hankyung closed his eyes almost immediately at the contact and breathed in the fresh scent from the pair of arms he found he could love forever. He clung onto the arms feeling safe and anchored for the first time since the news of his granny’s death.
He had not gone home for quite some time and the last time he was home, he had had a childish temper lashed out on his beloved granny. He had always been her centre of universe, and seeing the way he vented his anger on her must have broken her heart. She didn’t say, but he knew it must have hurt.
Hankyung felt the threatened of tears again. He had gone back to Korea then, after the vacation that his company allowed and had forgotten all about the incident. He hasn’t asked for her forgiveness yet. His shoulders shook as tears started falling again, and the arms around him started stroking soothingly in deep strokes on his back.
“Shh -”
Hankyung relaxed instantly as a rush of calm washed over him, and his sobs immediately ceased. “Hae…” He was shocked to find his voice raw and husky.
“Shh, I know Hannie. I know.”
“I -I haven’t asked for her forgiveness, Hae.” Hankyung managed weakly as he struggled to catch his breath once more.
“She knows, she knows you’re sorry, but she wouldn’t want you to be forever. She loves you, Hannie. Let go, so she can rest in peace.” Donghae’s voice was like a soothing chant that whispered over the skin where the shell of his ear is. Hankyung shuddered at the breathy comfort that was offered, and hugged tighter at the body whose arms are still around his beaten body.
Donghae looked down at his boyfriend and felt his heart wrench at the sight. He had never seen Hankyung like this and it scared him. He had almost had a heart attack when he spotted him at the cliff, and for a split second, he almost thought Hankyung was going to plunge himself to death.
He furrowed his brows in heartache for Hankyung as he felt his anguish like an electric wave. It was so intense and fierce Donghae almost felt he couldn’t stand it. But he wouldn’t relent, because he knew Hankyung needs him the most now.
All the while rocking both their body to the music of the waves which were suddenly back to when Hankyung had loved them, Donghae whispered words of love and promises to give the assurance his lover needs at the moment. Just like how Hankyung had been there to hold him when he was feeling helpless, he wanted to give the same amount of strength for him to move on, if not more.
The sun sets into the horizon as day gives in to night. Hankyung was still recovering from the after-effect of his wreaking sobs. He turned his face into Donghae’s chest and nuzzles the place where his heart beats… for him right at the moment. He’s sure of that.
Donghae hugged Hankyung closer to him as he took in a deep breath and relished in the feel of having him in his arms. He laid his cheek against his head and rubbed gently in an affectionate way. His heart skipped a beat and that’s when he knew how much Hankyung meant to him.
Two shadows that were cast on the gravel ground by the remaining sunlight combined into one, dark wavy locks and fabrics joined in the little dance with the sea breeze as it leads in the light spirited dance.
It’s all right now, I’ve got you.
