right, so, anyway. a real comment now. :)

an interesting take on harry, here. is he cheating on ginny or does she know they aren't exclusive but doesn't know who he's out playing the field with? and i don't think i've ever seen a harry who was so free, so sexual outside of a monogamous relationship. we all tend to see him as far too noble and pure, i think, for him to not only cheat on his partner but not be interested in settling down with anyone at all.

In my mind, this Harry lives his life for him and no one else. It's certainly not the standard fanon Harry, but for the most part, under my real online persona, my Harry usually isn't. I like to make him a bit cocky. To me, he's not terribly OOC that way because canon Harry is very much 'It's my way, right away' too. He doesn't go for pleasing the masses and has had to put up with a lot of shit from the masses.

And yeah, Ginny has no idea that he's not monogamous, which is why she's pretty upset to see him standing there holding hands with Draco. My little fangirl H/D OTP heart wanted to make him choose Draco but in the end, I couldn't do it. Harry just likes to have his options open to him at this point in his life. Plus, Draco showed himself to be the type of person who doesn't care as much for someone else's feelings, and really, Harry doesn't like to hurt anyone if he can help it.

Noble and pure Harry is a fandom invention, I think. We've seen him lie and cheat. He's not perfect.

i agree that in fandom we sometimes forget Harry's canon imperfections. good point.

i like harry taking what he wants, when he wants. and i like that little worm of guilt that he isn't being honest with ginny--that's very harry.

here's my take on what happens next: i think he'll end up with draco in the end--my perfect ending of course--but i think he'll take his time getting to that end. i think he likes the idea of playing the field as much as actually doing it...so while he's going to cut things off with ginny, he won't officially commit to draco for awhile...even though he'll only be seeing draco. its his way of satisfying his need to be single and unattached while satisfying his need for draco as well...

just my little speculation. i liked this ficlet very much!

Wow, this was ever so hot.

I really liked Harry in this, he seems so much more real than alot of fanon Harry, and perfection in a character, fanon or not, is just not attractive, imo. I really liked him here alot. Plus, the comments about Ginny at the beginning were perfect. Food poisoning on parade! XD Very well done.
