I drew one of the understudies for the show and made some fun gift packaging. His sheet was so unhelpful for me. You like water? Really? And coconut milk?
So here's the first thing I got him:
A can of coconut milk!
Next, oh yeah, the water....
He also said he liked big macs, so I thought I'd pick him up a $5 McDonalds gift card.
Today I got him an ugly coffee mug from Barnes & Noble as well as the fugliest bookmark I've EVER seen. Look at that cat head! The bookmark looks like a fuzzy-wuzzy road kill cat.
Tomorrow is the final present exchange, but I'll already be back home for the week. I got him this kid's book
http://www.amazon.com/Touch-Art-Pop-Warhols-Top/dp/1402735693and a $25 dollar gift card to Barnes & Noble.
It's been fun, I've never really done a secret santa before. I'm having a blast getting my gifts. They've been getting better as the days pass. The first thing I got was a deck of "cheap date idea" cards. OK.... Next I got a cd of Christmas songs. Yesterday I got a four-pack of
Vosge's truffles. (The color of the ribbon happens to be the main color we want for our wedding.) I use to live next door to a Vosge's. Their bacon bars are my horrible guilty pleasure.
Today I got a bottle of red wine and the 20th anniversary Princess Bride DVD. Awesome! (I do own Pricess Bride already, but not this version.) It is one of my favorite movies. My parents raised me on 1980s sci-fi. That is why I love the greats like Princess Bride, willow, Lady Hawk, The Explorers, and oh, that's right:
The Last Starfighter.
And did I mention that I totally know who my secret santa is?
The Last Starfighter (Slightly aged...)
He plays Johnny Cash in the show and is a real sweet guy. (I haven't told him that I too am a slightly crushing fan girl. I want to go to his home in LA and play his Last Starfighter pinball machine.) He 's done an alright job of hiding his identity as secret santa from me, but I think I'm sure it's him. Besides the awkward stares as he walks by me (with a present dropped off for me a few minutes later by someone else) and the loud whispering to a co-worker as to where he could leave a present for me, he's a big wine person, so a good bottle of wine seems an appropriate gift from him.
I love my job - cool people, fun times
...I just wish it paid more.
