I spent most of last weekend mucking around with a cheap skein of yarn, trying to figure things out and teaching myself to crochet. I bought a skein of this awesome gradiated red yarn, only to realize when I started crocheting with it, it was a freakin' boucle yarn. ROFLMAO

I would think bouclé is perfect for scarves, or do you mean it's better suited for knitting? (Both knitting and crocheting belong to a dim and distant past for me.)

Since it's so fluffy, you can't get too crazy with it, so a miss stitch here and there won't even show up.
When you wash it though, make sure you put it under something heavy to keep it from drying funny. Maybe a plank of wood, that sort of thing. Not shrinking per se you need to keep an eye out, but more getting stretched a bit. You could end up with a narrow, then wide, then narrow, scarf.
And then you'd be Tom Baker. In Boucle.
