My aunt has lupus, though, and she's in really good nick - she's had dodgy patches here and there, but overall, she's done really well in spite of it. I know when she got it, it was pretty full-on and took a lot of getting used to. But I totally forget that she even has it. I think she's had it about...let me think...I was in Grade 4 or 5 when she did, so it'd be about 21 years or something. Actually, I think she's in remission now and has been for a while. She managed to get pregnant with my cousin (who's 14 or 15 now) whilst in remission, then she came out of remission and that was a dodgy patch and now I THINK she's in remission again. So here's hoping you'll have remission too!
And feel free to vent to me - being that I'm all-too-familiar with the chronic illness thing, albeit a different one. ;-)
