My crunchy is dying....

There is part of me dying in this house.  The use of bleach paper products microwaves plastic storage containers and non recycling is driving me NUTS.  I swear they use a roll of paper towels a day.  A DAY!  I haven't bought paper towels in almost 3 years.  Hell I would go to family wipes if I wasn't terrified of Hunter getting into the pail and ( Read more... )

Is this what happens when a very passive doormat of a person gets thrown off a cliff?

My MIL lived in TX for a few years when my husband was little. She has very negative memories seeing as how her husband left her for his roller dance partner. I keep that in mind and pretty well ignore all the negativity she spouts about Texas, however, your post reminded me of some of her bigger complaints.

1. The moms would give thier kids Coke in bottles with crushed up chips in it.
2. Texas should be the tarheel state because all the kids were allowed to run around barefoot.
3. Koolaide moustaches will in fact, actually stain the lips if not washed off every night.

On a side note - many of the mom's I've met on base here have the same attitude about breastfeeding and WIC - and I get the same response to cloth :)

If I spouted off about what the "typical" flavored beverage in bottles here are I would sound like a racist.

I love texas. I just really hate my situation right now and it is easy to get focused on the negative. I mean, we had our house stolen from us by family for gosh sakes!!!! And living here is a constant reminder on how were were fucked. I have emotions that are all over the spectrum about it. Sometimes happy and sometimes I feel like Lizzy Borden (who my mom called LIzzy Miguire last night and I almost crapped myself).

Well I about puked when I heard someone say, "the only reason I breast feed was because she was three days old and WIC hadn't kicked in yet! After that I did the RIGHT thing and gave her formula."

OMFG. the right thing. uhm, yeah.

I keep getting more and more about weaning Pi now - esp. since at daycare she's prone to groping the teachers. One of them commented how she didn't see how breastfeeding was all that cheaper since she never spent a dime on formula anyway, and it's just so much more work to pump

I don't blame you - and I totally understand how bad situations make it harder to stay positive in any way, about anything going on around oneself.

*hugs*

GOOD! You are supposed to laugh! It is one of my deals that when I vent and i know it isn't the "end of the world" type deal it just comes out funny because I am making fun of myself while I do it. I said some shit about my MIL's taste in decor the other day to my mother that made her laugh so hard she about pissed her pants.

Something along the lines of "Grandma's Garage Sale White Trash Particle board nicotine covered make you want to kill a clown want to be antique" but it was funnier than that.
