i'm feeling quite pressured to start weaning Gia and i don't know if i like it. She's been exclusively bf and now... i don't know if i should start her on solids as per OTHER PEOPLE's opinions. another thing i'm worried about is that she's HUGE! and the last thing i want to do is transfer my own problems with my body to her. She's healthy, right? ( Read more... )

She's healthy. Do not worry about her. Looking at her pictures I do not believe she is an obese baby (which is rather hard to do anyway, especially one that exclusively breastfeeds!). Start her on solids if she appears interested... that is the best advice I can give you.

Thorsten is very interested in solids and so he eats them now and breastfeeds.

I don't plan on weaning him anytime soon... but I will watch for cues in him so I can continue to do what he wants.

I nursed my daughter until shortly after her 2nd birthday. The time to wean was right for her and for me. I'd like to go that long with my son too... but every child is different.

*hugs* Don't worry... you are not alone. I believe most, if not all mothers, worry about these things. It's hard to know what is right as everyone seems to have an opinion that they believe to be right. Sadly, there is no one right answer.

She's not fat. She's a baby for heavens sake and anyone who says so have problems. As long as the doctor deem her healthy that's all that matters. I LOVE her rolls though. I think all babies should have rolls. Little Ray is developing them now and I love it.

Little Ray has been eating Gerber organic foods for a little while now. I started him on rice cereal for a week, then oatmeal for a week and now he's on his yellow veggies. He LOVES squash and carrots. I am starting him on green veggies soon and I'm afraid he might not like that. He was eating solids and breast milk until a week ago when I started supplementing formula. I'm really nearly tapped out with my breastmilk. I do still have some frozen ones that I've been giving him in the evening.
