Well, good luck whatever route you take. If you're basing your decision on answers to the metaphorical question, then I hope it's close enough to the reality to be a useful metaphor. (And will we ever find out what the reality is, anyway?) Did you count me as voting either way? I seem to remember giving no real answer.

Well, it was nice to see you at the dance, even if you did have to leave early. I am very sad to hear things have taken a turn for the worse since and because of that. Well, I will miss talking to you if I indeed don't get the chance for a while, and I hope you will be back soon. I will try as hard as I can not to die or anything in your absence, but if I do, I hope you will forgive my rudeness. Good luck and best wishes to you too (and you try not to die too). I hope your life takes a turn for the less miserable before too long.

You shall be missed terribly.

Do try not to die in your own absence. Consider: the rest of us will likely be in contact with each other and so can watch out for each other. If you are out of contact with all, then you become the one in the most danger. I have every faith, however, that you will manage to live through the ordeal.
