We've just had the third very perceivable tremor in four days. At least, I have felt three, dunno if there have been more. What's going on Pacific Rim of Fire? What are you up to? I wonder if there's any relationship to the fairly large earthquake that shook Hawaii today. I mean, it's been months since we had a good shake here in Santiago. Now we ( Read more... )

I was on licencia, and I feel them more in my bed than walking around. This one lasted SUCH a long time!

So long as there's no damage, they're pretty cool. I kind of like them. But they do make my heart beat pretty fast. Kinda scary, I guess. Hang on... haha! Like to a handle of some sort?

Wow, so you mean it's really common to feel tremors and people just go around saying, "Oh yeah. 'Nother tremor." And its no big deal? or?

well, I suppose there's always the worry that we could have another bad one. But considering that we aren't close to an ocean in Santiago, we won't have a tsunami. The last big one in Santiago was in 1989. But the tremors themselves are kind of fun. At least, I like them, so long as they don't last too long and not all my stuff goes flying around the room.

My two sisters that live in San Francisco never mention tremors, yet I imagine they must have them now and then. My oldest sister moved out there in 1989, just two or three months before the big one that brought down the Oakland Bay Bridge. Let's hope both Santiago and San Francisco can avoid the big ones for a while longer.

Oh God, I'm SO glad there were no tremors when I was there! I would've been so freaked out.
