I love air conditioning. It's the only way we've survived this heat for the last week or two. I'm anxiously waiting for my startup kit for my Stampin' Up Demonstratorship. I do websites for a living, so I can certainly help you. I don't do so much on the design side, but I know how to build and can teach you if you'd like.

I could recommend a book or two, but I'd need to know what are you looking to learn about. Just HTML? PHP? ASP? Javascript? Many people go with a "LAMP" configuration: Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP because all of the parts are free.

I can help too.

If you're going to write from scratch, Go spend some time at www.w3schools.com. It's a website setup by the W3 consortium (the guys that set web standards). They have listings of everything, how stuff works, and what's supported. It's also a good place to become familiar with what's okay, and what is looked down on. If you're already familiar with HTML, I recommend you pick up CSS (very cool stuff).

If you're interested in LAMP (as the other guy mentioned), check out: http://www.onlamp.com/, it's setup by O'Reily, and it's all free information.

If you need scripting or with databases, shoot me an email.
