So up until this term I have been programming in C++. My teacher preferred that we use Visual Studio to do this and since the school provided it free I obliged. It only runs in Windows. Since I have a MacBook Pro that let's me run Windows using BootCamp I just have to reboot into Windows whenever I needed to do my homework. Nice that I have the ( Read more... )

When I was in Montana, the CS class I took was using BlueJ for development. That was back in 2000, when OS X had barely arrived. BlueJ was ported to OS X a few months after I finished the semester. It's a good little development environment.

I must say that I would rather use Java on a Mac than C++ on Windows. I am glad that you were able to find a way to stay out of Windows.
