It's strange to think how time's flying by; everyone's saying goodbye now and the sad thing is is that we don't know how long our goodbyes will be. I found that I've become more acutely aware of separation as my depature nears. You'll notice it when it gets closer for you too, for those of you that are a month away from leaving. (And for my ( Read more... )

Lately, whenever Ive had free time to myself, Ive been thinking about high school more than anything else... a lot of it still feels unresolved or like there is still something more that has to be done... I dont know... Im going to miss some of the good times, like sports, Curtis and McQueen, lunches and so forth...

If your plan is to keep using LiveJornal in college, I know Ill still be using it, so part of the IHS community will still be around... I know its not the same as if everyone, or at least a majority still used it, but hey at least well have that. And whatever happens to you in the next four years and as time moves even further, I hope you have a blast and are able to create some more memories.

Thanks. I will keep writing, for sure. I'm tentatively on the track to double major in Business and English, but I have a fickle mood, so who knows. I don't think I'm going to write under this current journal once college starts. I'll announce the name of the new journal some day soon.

Amber getting married was weird. I think she's living in Georgia now. I haven't SEEN here since Viking day but I've talked to on the phone a couple times and emailed. Reminds me to see how she's doing...

When I heard that she was getting married, I was taken by surprise, but after the initial "what the fuck?" shock, I wasn't all that surprised. It was the type of thing I could see Amber do... and she did! That's cool, though. If he makes her happy, that's great. I hope he's a nice guy and they last. I heard that they married in Amie Shah's backyard. In any case, yeah. I wonder how she's doing too.

I read the whole damn thing. And I'm glad. Leave it to you to express, so eloquently, all the things I think, feel, and quickly stifle. I only wish I had the attention span to sit down and sort through this mess of emotions.

It's weird to think that we've suddenly transitioned from one demographic to another. All those movies and products that were once directed at kids exactly like us are no longer applicable, as we are now "College students". We have different concerns. And you know what? We'll continue to careen through these various stages of life, all the while being told what to buy, until finally, we're too old, too crotchety, and too damn cheap to be of any market's concern. Well, except for the life insurance and drug companies, of course. That, to me, is some scary shit.

It is strange that we're beginning to switch to a different demographic. I think there was a bigger shift from elementary school to junior high though. "Sex sells" isn't exactly a moniker you can apply to 5-12 year olds, lol. Anyway, you're right. I haven't quite noticed it yet, but I'm sure we will. I know I'm going to sound like we're back in Curtis' class or something, but I like how you used the word "careen" to describe the journey of life. It's a really appropriate word to use when describing life. Nobody ever gets this all completely right; something's always unbalanced.

The scariest thing ever is aging. I'd much rather die young than be an anachronism in the world. Who wants to be of no use and babysat by daytime TV? Jesus. It's fucking horrible.

Thanks for writing that...I sure enjoyed reading it. You've got to come see me tomorrow...call my cell to make sure I'm home. I should be packing, because I have yet to start that, and I leave early on Wednesday. Haha. Hope to hear from you soon!

I'll definitely try to swing by sometime and in the case that I don't, I'll be sure to give you a call. And if I don't do that for some bizarre reason, I'll definitely write you a letter. I plan on writing a lot of those during the course of the school year.
