First night

Baby June did great her first night. Nursed like a starving animal. Needless to say, my milk has come in today. Woo!

Ivy... is struggling with jealousy. Had to sleep half on top of me last night. Steals pacifiers and cries out that SHE'S a baby. Other times, she loves her sister, helps us care for her, and gives baby sister kisses. It's gonna take ( Read more... )

She's perfect, absolutely perfect. She looks a lot like Ivy.

We went through the jealousy thing. Don was in school and working, but we tried to set aside a short time each day when he would watch Mandie and I would go off with Jeremy, spend 1/2 hr with him, just the two of us, something he didn't have to share with that 'usurper'.

I did learn not to leave him alone with her. Found her (about a week old) with her mouth stuffed full of saltine crackers. But there were only 20 months between them; hopefully Ivy understands enough not to do that sort of thing.

I can't believe how incredibly tiny she is. I can see that the regular stuff would be big on her. Yay for your milk coming in!

How you feelin', sweetie?

I actually feel REALLY good. I felt good by the morning after giving birth, honestly. Very minimal bleeding, lots of energy, and ready to be active. Trying to take it easy, though. Don't want to overdo it by accident.

Yeah, today has been a ROUGH day for Ivy. I like your idea about separating and having special activities with her. I'm going to do that as much as I can this week especially. She's my baby ALWAYS, but she can't see that.
