Does anyone know if the government has any type of website/database that's open to the public to look up information on individuals who have had a disaster ( Read more... )

NO idea but you'd be surprised what IS considered a matter of public record, and how easily someone *could* find you.

License plates, real estate records (looking up who owns a house at a particular address and even what they paid for it)...it's frightening.

those are good thoughts. now you have me wondering about that too.

if you read craigslist, you might be surprised about the amount of people who are looking to shack up with katrinas victims for more than just offering the kindness of their heart.... its kinda sickening.
