Walk both sides of the line.
"Okay, I know I'm asleep, but this is stupid." Enzan rubbed his head. He was once again in the void area where he'd confronted his other half. "Where are you?"

"Hardly. Let's get this over with."
The double-Enzan appeared, the floor becoming visible in the moon-level light. "One of our distant alternates is dead."
The mercenary rolled his eyes. "I care because..."
"Your fate is rather closely tied to his." The alter ego sighed. "Also, you are ideally and uniquely suited to patch the void left for a while."
"Oh hell no. I'm not going anywhere!" he hissed. "I'm not abandoning Blues!"

"Explaining the--"
"Let me make this clear." For the first time there was malice in the 'conscience's' voice. "You do not have a choice. This will help you. And you're going. Now."
"Going where?" Enzan narrowed his eyes.
"Mist village." The other smirked. "You won't remember a thing of this, of course...or anything other that what's provided for you there..."
Before blacking out Enzan spied the symbol of the Crest of Hope once more, the light fading away.
[Enzan is now no longer in this world. 2-site spanning character development arc is GO.]
