I've been studying military strategy as research for my novel, But ever since then I've gotten into it as a hobby. My favorite books so far have been Infantry Attacks by Erwin Rommel, Mao Tse-tung's On Guerilla Warfare, Special Ops: 1939-1945: A Manual of Covert Warfare and Training, and the US Army Ranger Handbook. There is a community called article_request (http://community.livejournal.com/article_request/) where scholars ask each other for articles they can't find. It may be worth a try. I am interested to find Rommel's textbook on infantry attacks among your favourites - is it that good? I heard that if you look, you can find in there the whole of the strategy he used with tanks in Libya.

Thank you for the link. I've just started reading Infantry Attacks. I just got past the introduction by Rommel's grandson, but it is very good so far. His tank strategy is listed either in Infantry Attacks or the Tank in Attack, his second book which he never got around to finishing.
