I've Named my Mosin Nagant + Might Include Pics

I used to think that only lunatics named their weapon anything. After hearing about how the USMC, US Army, and other world militaries urged their recruits to name their weapons as a way to motivate them to take better care of them, I decided that it wouldn't be a bad idea for the same reason. I came up with a list of names: Mosy, Emancipator, ( Read more... )

Mosin! Yeah! I miss my Mosin, sigh. Even though it was a butchered, bubba'd Remington-manufactured Mosin from 1918, and thus not really a real Mosin. Still, I wish I hadn't sold it.

One day, another Mosin will grace my gun closet. Then your Mosin and mine can be pen pals, or something.

Look at the bright side, since you no longer have one of those 1918 remington knockoffs, it won't be able to explode on you; which improves your chances of survival to get an authentic, non-exploding mosin. You can probably get a mosin on the cheap for 75 bucks, however those will be of really poor quality. A good quality mosin costs somewhere along the lines of 150-300 dollars. I got mine in excellent quality along with all the trimmings(bayonet, strap, original equipment) for $300. I look forward to the day when our mosins can be pen pals.

Durandal is cool!

It appears in my novel. (My characters take it to Hell with them.)

Oh yeah, I kindled your book recently. It is next on my reading stand, I will begin reading it right after I finish the Gorbachevski book.

Oh, that's cool! I hope you enjoy it!
Durandel doesn't appear until Book Two and Three, though. ;-)

I'd go with Dyrnwyn: "Draw Dyrnwyn, only thou of noble worth, to rule with justice, to strike down evil. Who wields it in good cause shall slay even the Lord of Death"

I just thought of another name, Ascalon, after the sword/spear(?) of St. George. However, I will save that name for if I ever buy another gun. My mosin is now and forever shall be Durandal.

Good name! Now, I would have gone for something Russian and female, but that's me.

I still haven't named any of my firearms; two RIA .45s, one Mossberg 500, and a DPMS/Bushmaster AR M4gery.

The Mossy is somwhat traditional: wood furniture, but with a youth stock (I'm short). Hmmm...old style, youth...

Lolita. :)
