there are a lot of people who want to do away with the electoral college. Personally, I don't think it should be done away with, but there is certainly a movement to get rid of it. It would require a Constitutional amendment, which means a lot of groundwork and petitions and Years and Years of work. Maybe you could find an organazition and volunteer for them?
I'm glad you voted, but don't let frustration turn you off to the process. Let it be your drive to work to change things.
Vote in all the elections. Not just the general ones. Arguably your vote does exponentailly more to shape your local politics than it does in national politics.
The dog has fleas. Everyone has an idea how to kill them, but not too many have a way to kill one flea without another growing strong. Plus what about the ticks. And you can't do so much you endanger the dog. Cause it's a good dog, at it's core...or it can be.
The electorates will vote how they're supposed to. They almost never don't. And while the electoral college has some major kinks, lets mend it, not end it. Cause killing the EC would mean that non-populous states and areas wouldn't even SEE a president...or federal aid...or what not.

I grew up in a socialist (well, close enough) country. It's not any better.
This place is nigh onto a kleptocratic republic, and THAT I can't stand. (steal all you can)
