“Luke, we’re not getting a dog.”

Giving up any pretense of innocence, Luke whined loudly, “why not?”

Running a weary hand through his hair as he moved away from the door, Noah answered, “Baby, we’ve been over this. It’s just not possible. Not with my schedule and yours. A dog is a full time commitment.”

I love that it's not Luke's pleading, but just Luke's big heart that convinces Noah they should get a dog. This was lovely.
