In the past week, I've resolved to make progress, but start small. Not up for weekend conventions, but lunches and dinners. I'll try to get out one more day a week, to start with. So that's good.

Not good: in the past week another friend lost a parent, and another lost a pet.

Well, I'm now in a new phase of my life. I no longer have to worry about what my parents would think if they found about about things I did or didn't do, where or how I live. This may be liberating. My father's in a hospital again, he had a hemorrhagic stroke yesterday morning. They flew him to the regional medical center about 60 miles from his home. He's stable now, bleeding stopped, and it's too soon to tell either way, but he's at best very weak on his right side and his speech is severely impacted. Just a note in case anyone was expecting to see me lately. More stress, no joy, no end in sight. Too many years of rejection and punishment leaves it impossible for me to feel that anything I do is good enough, so everything is failure everywhere I look, and then things that I am pretty sure are not my fault happen to make things worse ( Read more... )
