It kinda sucks, but I have taken to bringing a small lunch and no snacks for lunch. Maybe once a week I will eat out, but otherwise it's only what I have. This allows me a big breakfast and big dinner without breaking the calorie bank. Most of the time my lunch is a yogurt. I allow myself 0 calorie drinks as well, but no snacks. It takes some getting used to, but it keeps me on the level.
I don't have time to really do a large breakfast in the morning, since I have to be on-route to the hospital by 6:30 am. I usually pack about 800-900 calories in my "lunch bag", which is my food until I get home at 4, leaving me with another 800-900 for "dinner" (assuming no exercise) I usually can leave the vending machine alone if the day is busy or if I am smart enough to leave my wallet in my locker. I'm not hungry, necessarily... I'm bored and candy is tasty.
