Summary: Brigette has turned herself over to the dark influences of the Core and fallen from the arms of her beloved homeland, only to destroy it. Unfortunately, this doesn't change the way others see her.

"He said I was ugly." Brigette stared down at her muddy reflection and sniffled angrily.
"Mistress, if I may," A gargantuan figure appeared beyond the curtain of weeds that surrounded Brigette's 'palace.' He swept the vegetation aside and lumbered into the castle. The ground shook and rumbled with each step he took. "Do not burden yourself with unnecessary emotions."
"It's not unnecessary. I have always been treated this way. She said it would change if I had more power." The lonely princess crossed the room and slammed her fists through a cracked mirror. She knocked the relic over onto its side and spun around to face her ever faithful knight. "Nothing has changed!"
"I do not follow the Lady Calyn. I follow you." Raghu echoed with thoughtful monotony in his voice.
"But I'm lost." Brigette clawed at her skin and shook from head to toe.
"I am incapable of providing any such guidance. Shall I destroy this magi that called you..." Raghu's voice faded into the eerie silence of the marsh.
"Ugly." Brigette muttered with exasperation. "Deal with him if you see it fit, Raghu."
"Yes, Mistress." Raghu bobbed his mechanical head and stomped out of the sand castle he had built for his princess.
Brigette dropped to her knees beside the shattered mirror and picked up some of the shards into her bloody hands. Tears of ebony fell from her bright, green eyes and stained the glass below. She gazed up into the ceiling and shut her eyes tightly.
"How much further do I have to fall before they all disappear?”
