Traipsing along the stony corridor with a song in her heart, Serafi could hardly contain her happiness. She’d just spoken to Targ’n, Kybar’s Elder, and he’d asked her to remain for duration of the battle against Warrada. It wasn’t the prospect of battle that delighted her; it was the fact that she could say beside Korok a little longer. A shrill giggle alerted her suddenly.

Creeping behind a statue, Serafi watched the horror unfold like a bad dream. Korok was leaning on a doorpost fraternizing with another female Arderian. Her laughter was infectious and her beauty unmistakable, it was the girl Sorreah had brought back with him, Amara.

Serafi suppressed the urge to hinder their progress, partly because of her dignity and the other because she didn’t stand a chance against Amara. She was a charming girl but not nearly as beautiful as her rival. She lacked the allure that Amara possessed; that ability to enter a room and have all eyes turn upon you.

Quietly, she slipped further into the shadows along the wall and meandered back to her chamber. As she closed the door, her vision began to blur, clouded with the threat of tears.

“It’s my fault.”

Characters/Pairing: Korok/Serafi
Table: Random 2
Prompt: 06. Out
Rating: PG
Warnings: Minor spoilers for the "War of the Twins" storyline.
Summary: Feeling confused, Korok is determined to get to the bottom of Serafi's avoidance of him.
Word Count: 200

Pacing the floor like a caged Akkar, Korok grumbled and kicked another stray stone into the wall. Frustration had replaced his willpower as he’d been searching for the magi in question for nearly an hour. Every room he went into, she’d been there only five minutes before.

It was as if she didn’t want to see him at all.

He stopped to thump his head against the wall in anguish. Thoughts of guilt and confusion trickled down the stony pillar he leaned against as he tried to figure out what went wrong. What he had done to upset her so. It was the last thing he ever wanted to do, unintentionally or not.

“This is so stupid.”

He pushed off of the rough surface and stomped into the hallway. His afternoon was already off to a horrible start. First, Amara had hounded him for some time alone, to which he gruffly but politely declined, telling the magi that he was seeing someone else. And now, he couldn’t find his someone else.

“Korok isn’t around, is he?” A familiar voice echoed around the corridor, alerting him almost instantly. He sped down the hallway and stopped in front of the barracks.

“Serafi!”
