Man, that's addictive. The weird thing, though? I mostly get words I either don't know, or barely know, and I still get them mostly right. Apparently I'm good at guessing - or else I know my roots really well. *grin. I'm pleased with myself. I donated something like 11 bowls of rice in the last 20 minutes, and had fun at the same time. I shall have to bookmark that page. I'm curious as to what the vocabulary level is about, though - 39 (or 26, or 44, or whatever) out of what?

50. Most people don't get up that high. There's a FAQ page I was checking out earlier. I did a test where I answered the first 6 or 7 wrong, and it started me at Level 1 (daddy is father) and worked my way up to my actual level. It's interesting because it's the same approach as the GREs: the first few questions determine what the others are going to be. It's also good because it means that middle school and up can work on this without getting frustrated. (3 correct answers in a row increases your vocab difficulty level)

If you get stuck at the same level for an extended amount of time like I do(I tend to get two right and one wrong), then you'll start getting repeat words and you actually might start learning the ones you consistently get wrong/guess at randomly.

Oooh, now I have something to strive for! I think the highest I've made it is 41 once or twice.

oh my god I think I hate you. I just spent like 3 hours on this for a cumulative total of 21,800 grains of rice, just staring at the screen and click click clicking. I hope those hungry families appreciate my sleep deprivation. @_@

Haha. It's truly a time zapper (but at least it's for a good cause?) Just think of it as having spent 3 hours studying vocabulary!
