or she could just ask for an annulment, and end the alliance and fast-track her trip to the headman’s axe. yeah, it’d be phenomenally stupid but at least she’d be honest with herself. and freeing Francis to marry someone who’d actually treat him like a fucking human being. at this rate, it’s a wonder that she survives as long as she did.
Yeah, Mary's ENTIRE LIFE means nothing compared to Francis' hurt feelings and pride.
