SPOILERS AHEAD! DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED!!!

You've been warned.

RECAP - entire season SRSLY XD

- Kaoru reports something about Nii-san, I think he wanted to talk to Naoto
- Nii-san declares that he was a bad/not good (dame) older brother. And I think Nii-san told Naoto that their dad loves Naoto. Naoto immediately says, 'that can't be' but Nii-san counters it with 'I know father's xx' (feelings?) Then Nii-san apologizes to Naoto. :(
- Nii-san... Nii-san commits suicide using the cigarette he used on Souda. *weeps*
- Naoto goes back to Nii-san and finds him dead on the floor with his hands on his throat!!! ;___; Eisaku rushes to the hospital and finds Naoto standing over Nii-san's cloth-covered body.
- (SO MUCH PAIN FROM EISAKU!!) Eisaku weeps for his dead son. Naoto gives Eisaku the piece of paper Nii-san left on the table. And Eisaku finally breaks down. (When a man with a huge pride cries....... it is much more painful.)
- Ryo overhears about Nii-san's death
- Eisaku talks to Naoto about happiness. Protecting something. Eisaku grabs Nii-san's hand and continues to weep for the son who always followed him. I think Eisaku just declared how important both sons are to him when Naoto was about to leave the room. Once Naoto gets out of the room, he lets himself weep. (And gahds, that was painful... *sniffs*)
- Ryo goes over to the station and meets the chief. I think the chief confirmed Nii-san's death. And he went on to lecture Ryo. (Manaka Tomoo should be the one who will understand this the most.) The chief asked Ryo for something.. (I unfortunately cannot understand)
- Ryo finds Naoto weeping along the corridor. ;___;
- Ryo stares at Naoto's picture inside the red room. He proceeds to tear off all the pictures from the wall and throw them across the room.
- Eisaku looks at a photo album containing pictures of him with his two sons. Possibly because of his grief, he grabs his heart.... I'm guessing heart attack.
- Ryo walks along a street and meets Shiori along the way. He just walks past her. I think she declared that she was scared and worried for Ryo. He looks at her for a while then turns around, steps away. She grabs him and begs him to stop. He reaches for her hand and makes her let go of him.
- Naoto is on a rooftop, calling someone.
- Ryo and Kasai talks. (Sorry, I had to put this in, Ohno's glassy eyes.... *_________*)
- Naoto goes to his father and finds him sprawled on the floor. Naoto tries to wake him up in vain. [Naoto: It can't be! It can't be!] (Gahds that was painful... ;___;)
- Kasai walks free. He talks to Mari. Yamano sees Kasai walk out of prison and is seething with anger.
- Naoto reflects on what has happened to him.
- Ryo receives a call....
- Yamano asks Ryo angrily why Kasai was able to walk free. Ryo asks Yamano for what purpose he's working. Yamano answers that it is, of course because of Hideo. Yamano takes out a knife (I think he wants to kill.. Kasai? Naoto?) Ryo stops him, much in the same way that Hideo did before. Yamano flashes back to that scene. Yamano accidentally (?) stabs Ryo in the stomach. Ryo, collected even in pain, asks Yamano to stop.
- Kasai buys a ring for Mari. Yamano stalks him and stabs him from behind. Kasai gets one look at who his stabber is, and glances longingly at the box he just bought. All this alternating with Mari happily preparing their dinner back at Kasai's flat. *weeps*
- Ryo manages to bring himself up to the bench, staunching his bleeding gut.
- Shiori comes back home and her friend gives her a paperback that... I think Ryo delivered just recently. It contains the music box and a letter.
- Shiori calls someone.
- Someone calls Ryo, who is currently bleeding on a bench.
- Naoto is seen flipping his phone close.
- Shiori's phone can't reach the person she's calling.
- The chief calls Shiori to ask if she knows where Naoto is. A detective declares something regarding Naoto, which Shiori overhears. She runs off with the letter.
- Ryo, bloody, stubbornly walks. Ryo's letter declares who Shoiri is to him in his letter. Ends it with an apology and thanks.
- Ryo ambles his way. Naoto is also walking. The detectives make a search for Ryo and Naoto.
- The screens show Yamano's picture. Wanted.
- The chief finds Eisaku's dead body.
- Ryo composes himself and walks slowly to the warehouse where Hideo died and finds Naoto there.
- Naoto asks if he IS the last. Then proceeds to take a gun from behind him. Naoto reminds Ryo again of the people who were killed along the way, including his brother and father. Naoto wrestles with himself trying to pull the trigger as Ryo just stares at him.
- Ryo asks Naoto to kill him already. Naoto lowers his gun. Naoto weeps.
Ryo: Don't you understand, still?
Hideo and my mother died.

- Ryo tries to convince Naoto to kill him already. Weeping. But Naoto can't, he drops the gun. Regardless of what Ryo has put him through, Naoto cannot kill him. Ryo grabs the gun from the floor and puts it to his head. Naoto stops him and they wrestle with the gun, ending up with Naoto getting shot. Naoto falls to the ground, Ryo begs him to hold on and not die yet. Ryo grabs his phone shakily. Naoto reaches for his hand and asks Ryo if he is happy now. He nudges Ryo's phone away.
- Ryo grabs Naoto to him and screams him not to die.
- Ryo somehow manages to get Naoto to sit agains a wall, with him sitting beside the dead Naoto.
- Ryo flashes back to all his encounters with Naoto.
- Shiori finally makes it, and finds Ryo leaning on Naoto's shoulder with Naoto holding Hideo's harmonica.

EPILOGUE
- The chief and Shori are walking on a beach.
- Shiori sees two black butterflies flying together and smiles.
- It ends with the two butterflies flying off to the sea.
- Credits: Shiori comes back home and looks at the altar. In the middle of it is Hideo's harmonica. She holds it and gets a vision.

IS THIS A SPECIAL OF SOME SORT BECAUSE IF IT DOESN'T HAVE OHNO AND TOMA THAT WOULD BE SAD!!

I'm going to be honest here. I was okay with the ending. But I wasn't ENTIRELY happy with it. That was some closure there, at least for Naoto and Ryo. I think Ohchan and Toma did very well, considering that this IS their first drama with a lead role. Heck, for Ohchan this IS his first drama, not counting V no Arashi.
Maou is a serious series and it took a 180-degree turn for Ohno to get in to Ryo's shoes. I will never forget how scary Evil!Ohno is. Nor will I forget the blatant regret and apology in Toma's face. They've done a great deal of acting here, probably much more than what they're used to. I don't know for sure. But for a first drama. It is not bad at all. :)
I hope they both get new dramas after this. Especially Ohno since he doesn't have any. @____@ Toma, we can count on new dramas with Toma, not so sure about Ohchan. He probably thinks it's much more trouble than it's worth. ♥

That said. I am looking forward to Ryo and Nino's new drama together. Swindlers. Brothers. :D
This should be fun. I wonder how many times Nino will molest Ryo before Ryo gets the hang of it. hahahahaahah! ♥

That guys is the end of Maou. Obviously, I understand a drop of Japanese. A drop. So... it's more like a run-down of things that happened. I cannot translate them. I usually understand only a word or two for every line, and that is not enough. So yeah, maybe one day I could watch this drama again in raw and find how embarrassingly wrong I am on certain things I assumed. "orz

Oh yeah, before I forget. To those in my flist who have watched Korea's Mawang, what was the ending for that one? Just curious.

Okay, gotta go for now. I have a lot of disk cleaning up to do so that when work starts, I won't have to agonize over my files. :D

PS: I want Maou's OST. The music was amazing.
