i thought you couldn't get a california teaching credential if you majored in "education".
Colleges suck. They suck in the way that you slowly realize that most teachers know almost nothing outside their own little world, and they almost never know anything about what the students have to deal with. So it's easy for a teacher to be like "oh, you can't do that" because to them it's like at most a 5 minute conversation, but for the student it's a deal breaker costing you money and wasting months. Of course on the flip side, if you make a really compelling argument and just flat out tell them what to think and are like "look, I've done this corusework, and it's obviously applicable, all you need to do is sign my paper, and you'll not have to deal with me ever again" then they'll be like "hrm... I know how to write my name." anyways it sucks, but I'm sure you'll figure out something useful.
