Somewhere in the back of my mind

Dec 16, 2009 21:39

This one's a bit changed, I've nicked it from sparklywalls.

1. Was 2009 a good year for you?
Mostly good, I reckon.  It would've been a bit better had I some sort of EMPLOYMENT throughout the year, but otherwise, yeah it was alright.

2. What were your favourite moments of the year?
SÃO PAULO!  MEETING UP FRIENDS!  SHOPPING BINGES!  JENS LEKMAN!

3. What was your least favourite moment of the year?
Ah, umm, I don't know?

4. Where were you when 2009 began?
5 minutes away from home.

5. Who were you with?
Parents and some family.

6. Where will you be when 2009 ends?
No idea; home maybe, nice and quiet.

7. Who will you be with when 2009 ends?
Parents.  I'm awfully predictable.  Does anyone want to come round and watch, oh I dunno, Doctor Who Christmas specials and angst about Ten's demise the next day?

8. Did you keep your new years resolution of 2009?
I can't even remember if I made them?  Probably not.

9. Do you have a new years resolution for 2010?
Get a job, finish my academic venture, oh and get a job.

10. Did you fall in love in 2009?
Haha, nope.

*prances*

12. If yes, do they know?
*Shaz dance*

13. Are you still in love with them?
*aviãozinho*

14. You regret it?
Why would I regret something that did not happeeeen?

15. Did you breakup with anyone in 2009?
Noooo.

16. Did you make any new friends in 2009?
I sort of did, I guess.  People at academic venture are friendly enough.

17. Who are your favourite new friends?
I don't do favourite friends, c'mon.

18. What was your favourite month of 2009?
End of May until the second week of June.  IT'S A MONTH OK.  My birthday, Ashes to Ashes finale (shut up, I was beyond excited), and then the São Paulo trip were pretty great IF I MAY SO.  And I do say so.

19. Did you travel outside of your country of residence in 2009?
I did actually!  For once!  I don't care if it does not count, but I went to Argentina and Paraguay.  I did not stray much further from the borders, but whatevs.

Soooo, I did Paraná, São Paulo and all over my own state.

God Help The Girl's God Help The Girl, Come Monday Night, or yet I'll Have To Dance With Cassie.

I don't think so at least!

I don't know.

34. Did you treat somebody badly in 2009?
I hope not!

35. Did somebody treat you badly in 2009?

36. How much money did you spend in 2009?
No effin' clue.

37. What was your proudest moment of 2009?
I managed to shoehorn an Ashes to Ashes reference into my Eliot essay and still get full marks.  MWAHAHA.  Alright, it wasn't anything particularly striking, but there you go.  Also, apparently I am indeed a language buff.  Academia-related moments only then.  Heh.

38. What was your most embarrassing moment of 2009?
Nothing comes to mind.

39. If you could go back in time to any moment of 2009 and change something, what would it be?

Full time employment, thank you very much.  Travel abroad?  In my dreams, perhaps.  Travel to São Paulo w00t!  SEEING FRANZ!  Yes, I should be excited only I'm not really because it's so far away still.

41. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?
I went to Foz.  Umm, what else?  All of the things I did I had done at some other time before, I'm afraid.

Nope.

43. Did anyone close to you die?

A weekend, more like.  12th-14th June.  You totally didn't see that one coming.

46. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not-swine flu (I'm still not entirely sure that wasn't swine flu, but there you go, no way of knowing that now) and then a random fever and sore throat about two months after that.  Immune system fail.

General having fun, seeing friends.  Word on that.

54. What do you wish you’d done less of?
General stressing about things.  Applying for jobs.

Don't think so.

59. What was the best book you read?
None of the books I read were freshly new or anything.

Funtiems with Jens.

62. What did you want and not get?
To be employed.

You'll want a windless city in June.  Oh dear, I don't know, what a daft question.

72. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Sipping on the sweet nectar of my memories

*

By the bye, I was reading the latest number of the Doctor Who Magazine the other day (for anyone who's interested, HQ scans graciously provided by pineapple_sky), when I came across this bit:

[John Simm and Ben Cook had been discussing the Master's music taste.]

In The Sound of Drums, the Master was watching the Teletubbies on TV. Isn't that more of his bag?

"That's the thing!" exclaims John, leaning forward. "It's Mozart and kids' TV programmes. I tried to say to Russell, 'The Master should be watching In The Night Garden!'"

AHAHAHAHA I SEE WHAT YOU DID THAR!  (In The Night Garden, ie. the programme that was on the telly when Alex "woke up" from her coma, and then just seconds later the Gene genie makes its first appearance.)  I jest, of course.  But that doesn't mean I didn't laugh heartily at it ;).

doctor who, nattering
