They sort of do. Everybody has an accent. You go anywhere in America and they will know that you are from Long Island. And yes, Californian's do because my mom lived in Cali for about 20 years and she adapted one, my aunt lives there along with 8365934 other relatives, and my best friend does too. There are varying degrees though, just like a Long Island accent.

They do have accents.
They are faint, but accents are there.

californians DEFINITELY have an accent.. i go twice a year and they make fun of my ny accent and i make fun of their californian accent.
