Kakashi only stared out at the scene unfolding before him.

He had known, since the day she moved in, that this problem would presume to be well, a problem in the future.

He just hadn't counted on it to become a problem this soon.

He shouldn't have felt guilty really, watching this private moment. It was after all, in perfect view from his bedroom window. But maybe, it had to do with the fact that he was currently masking his chakra fully and ducking out of view from said window that made his guilt appropriate.

He was, with all pretenses set aside, spying on his former student.

She was asking for it, really. He wasn't the one that asked her to move in next to him 2 months ago. In fact, he had been totally dead set against it. But being the pig-headed girl she was, she had completely disregarded her poor ex-sensei's opinion. As usual.

Since then, Kakashi had tried to spend as little time as possible in his humble apartment that just happened to have a perfect view of Sakura's little porch.

The porch she was currently entertaining a slightly intoxicated Kiba on.

Her unmistakable giggle floated through his slightly ajar window, and Kakashi's visible eye narrowed. What were they doing over there? His apartment might've offered the perfect view, but the sound was lacking.

For the better part of most nights he spent spying on the twenty year old, his imagination had filled in quite unsparingly on the audio.

It had gotten so bad, he'd even began to question his continuous Icha-Icha habit. Perhaps it was high time he stopped reading such inspiring novels.

As good as they were, they were giving his mind much unwanted creativity.

When she giggled yet again and slapped his arm flirtatiously, Kakashi growled and poofed out of his room.

That was enough for one night.

Needless to say, watching her entertain other men did not help him quench the feeling of want that resided deep within him.

Sakura giggled at the slurred joke Kiba had attempted to tell her.

She tried to do this as much as possible. Last week, she had invited Neji over for a nice homemade dinner to catch up on old times.

Because she knew, without a fault that whenever she appeared on her porch with a dinner guest that was male and expressively not Naruto or Sasuke, Kakashi would be watching from his bedroom window.

It was slow going and a taxing game to play, but she was willing to play it through, because she would win.

The game had started the first night, when she had invited Genma over for dinner and dessert. A dangerous card to play, considering Genma's infamous reputation. But the other shinobi wasn't stupid, and had caught on to her game quite quickly. Needless to say, he was a wonderful actor.

That had been the move she needed, and since that night, Kakashi had been watching from his customary position every time.

In some aspects it was a childish game. Both too proud and stubborn to make a further move, they stuck to this excruciating routine. She knew that he knew she knew he was there.  Yet they continued this game, and would continue she suspected, until she finally crossed the line.

And then he would come to her.

But until then, she would play this game.

She could wait.
