As hard as he tried, Itachi could never discern the colour of her vivid eyes- when her mood was bright and happy, her eyes would follow and lighten to a beautiful apple green; but on the flip side, when she was angry, her eyes blended into a dark viridian green, and it was just as stunning.

She knew that he was only beginning to trust her, but that was good enough.

Sakura finds it amusing that Itachi absolutely abhors bugs, and strays away from them if possible (-“Are you scared, Itachi-kun?”) - she, on the other hand is used to them, having worked with Shino for a year.

Sakura is an avid coffee drinker, so when she finds out the Akatsuki base the five of them live at doesn’t have a coffee maker, all hell is let loose, and the four men spend the rest of their day hiding from the raging pink haired kunoichi.
#06 - Dark
Sakura would never admit it, but she always had an irrational fear of the dark that she had long since shoved to the corner of her mind, along with Inner Sakura- but when Itachi is sleeping next to her, the small shreds of leftover fear disappear entirely.
#07 - Despair
Despair was an emotion entirely foreign to Itachi - but when Sakura jumped in front of Sasuke to protect him, Itachi couldn’t stop the stab of jealously and despair coursing through him (because he used to be the one she protected).
#08 - Doors
“Sakura. Please refrain from breaking another door when you are mad. Instead, beating Deidara up would be a great solution.”
#09 - Drink
Kisame has too much to drink, and accidentally seals Itachi and Sakura in a room together for a night - Sakura comes out flushing a bright pink the next morning, and Kisame spends the rest of the day nursing a hangover and many fist sized bruises.
#10 - Duty
All her life, it’s been duty before everything else- but lying beside Itachi, Sakura finds that she really doesn’t give a damn about duty anymore.
#11 - Earth
The first time he really noticed her was when a small tap of her foot shattered the ground that supported him.

There’s no such thing as the end, because every time they separated and told each other this was it, they always ended up back together before long.

Falling for the infamous S-Classed criminal was one thing, but for the Uchiha prodigy to actually catch her too, was another story entirely.

Itachi is infamous for his Amaterasu, and Sakura finds that dealing with him is much like dealing with his deadly fire jutsu - it’s too easy to get burned.

Sakura is very put off that the only food items the Akatsuki base offers is instant ramen and takeout- so the next day, she drags a disgruntled Kisame and Deidara, an annoyed Itachi, and a delighted Tobi to the nearest grocery market, much to their dismay (except Tobi, of course).

Sakura glares at Itachi from her place by the stove, clad in a frilly Akatsuki print apron (-“I only missed by a foot. This is cruel, cruel punishment!”).

Because of his status as S-Classed criminal and involvement in the Uchiha massacre, a proper burial was not to be given to him- but secretly, Sakura built him a beautiful grave not far from Konoha in the place they first met, and made it a point to visit him every week.

Itachi finds that he is growing excessively fond of the colour green, and he tries to convince himself that it isn’t because of her brilliant green eyes.

“That’s not fair! Uchiha, you cheater! You gave yourself a head start!”

Sakura got up slowly from the bench she had been left on for the second time, though this time by the other Uchiha brother - only now, unlike the time with Sasuke, there was no one to help bring Itachi back to her, and she knew that this was what emptiness and despair truly felt like.

“I’m honoured you would think so highly of me, Uchiha-sama, but I’m sick of your games.”

Sakura is shrouded in light, while Itachi is drowning in darkness - little by little, Sakura is pulling him out of his dark world, shining her light on him (loving him, caring for him, saving him).

Sakura never forgot the young boy who rescued her from the forest at age 5, and was more than surprised when he too remembered her when Sasuke brought both she and Naruto home for dinner.

The warm crimson blood dripped down her neck slowly, and even as the cold metal edge of his kunai was pressed snugly against her neck, she couldn’t help but steal one last glance at his handsome face and his blood red eyes- even in death, she could never stop loving him (-even if he was the one killing her).

Sakura muses that being new to Akatsuki isn’t so bad, especially since Itachi has been assigned to her.

“I know we won’t get to grow old together, but I’m not asking for that. All I’m asking for is you.”

Sakura accepted the fact that this relationship was far from a fairytale; her prince charming would never buy her roses, would never save her from evil doers, and would probably never tell her he loved her - because in reality, he was no prince charming - but she also knew that what he did do (-the little things, a small upward curve of his lips, a lingering touch, the look he gave her when he thought she was asleep), was better than a fairytale could ever be.

Slowly, Spring has become Itachi’s favourite season, and he convinces himself it has nothing to do with the fact that she always smiles extra brightly when all the flowers bloom for the first time.

Sakura dropped to the chair with a contented sigh - his vitals were stable at last; he was safe.

Ever since his young years, Itachi has been labelled things like ‘prodigy’, ‘genius’, and ‘strange’, and now, nearly twenty-three years later, he’s used to nearly everyone calling him by his labels - so when the young pink haired medic looked past that immediately and saw Itachi, he was more than a little thrown back.
