The crazy fundamentalist Christian group protested on campus Monday, which meant that Ryan and I counter protested. I wore my huge bird costume with a sign that read, "I was once a dinosaur" and Ryan was a terrible space wolf with a sign that read, "On the 8th day we created God". We went in the middle of his protested and squawked and screamed directly in their faces for around thirty minutes. The plan of turning it into a discrediting entertaining menagerie was a huge success.

The best counter to those fanatics I witness was two years ago, when one of those fanatics was just ranting and raving about how "Donny Osmond is a fornicator." (A little too rock n' roll for them I guess.) Anyway, this very normal-looking college guy casually walked up to him, told him he was doing great, gave him a big hug and squeezed his butt. It was awesome, because it was very lowkey, but obviously rattled the fanatic quite a bit. And it got a cheer from the crowd too. I like the bird/robot idea too though, good work.
