I will offer carrots to any plot bunnies you care to present; surely someone's bunnies are biting by now. I'm starting to feel a bit lonely. And somehow, I got started writing superheroes again, so expect those for the next couple of Sundays.

Summary: Theo might be a smartass, but Drake usually loves him anyway.

The elevator dinged as it arrived on the twelfth floor. There were no signs here, but one couldn’t get to this floor without DNA clearance anyway, so no one would be needing them.

Theo wove his way through cubicles filled with people tapping away at computers, making a beeline for the back of the floor.

Another elevator awaited him there, the elevator’s operator greeting him with a small nod. “Morning, Grizzly,” the man greeted.

“Good morning, Lester. Did you do anything exciting with your weekend?”

Lester gave him a pointed look, lips pursed in slight disapproval at the idea of doing anything as undedicated as take a weekend. Theo could honestly say that in all the time he’d been with the Firm, he’d never seen anyone but Lester manning this elevator, no matter what time of the day or night he showed up.

He chuckled softly. “Of course. Forgive me, Lester. Did anything exciting happen here over the weekend?”

Lester sniffed haughtily. “Nothing that could not be handled.” His stern expression cracked, one corner of his mouth ticking up as he added slyly, “Though I wouldn’t be surprised if Blur has a shiner when he comes into the office this morning.”

Theo chuckled. “Well, I’ll have to be sure to take some time out of my morning for a special hello.” The elevator dinger and with a wink and a grin, he stepped off, flicking his first two fingers in farewell.

There weren’t any cubicles on this level, just a wide open floor with desks ranged around the edges, facing the center. Theo had never seen the desks unmanned.

He nodded to the secretaries he recognized, heading straight for the one who supervised his schedules.

He leaned a hip against the desk, mostly because he knew it would irritate the secretary. “Good morning, Jasper,” he drawled, smirking because Jasper’s eyebrows drew together immediately, before he painstakingly smoothed his features back out and looked up.

“Good morning, Mr. Bear,” he returned coolly, dragging out the large leather-bound book that was Theo’s schedule. “You’ll be patrolling the Lower West Side today with Slipstream.”

Theo opened his mouth to taunt the secretary, though he couldn’t say why, when an arm hooked him at the elbow and began dragging him away toward a set of double doors at the far end of the room.

Theo turned, grin already firmly in place. “Mornin’ Blade.”

The look he got in response was decidedly unimpressed. “I cannot understand why you will not leave your secretary be. Is it not bad enough that Shadow has taken an interest in him?”

Theo batted his lashes innocently, though he knew he wasn’t within spitting distance of convincing. “Shadow’s interested in him? Never say!”

He’d only gotten an eye roll when a discreetly pointed cough interrupted them. “Master Blade, there’s been a change in the schedule. You’ll be with Razor Edge today.”

“Eli, you are not obligated to address me like that, I have told you.”

The secretary gave a disdainful sniff. “Master Blade, it would be entirely improper for me to address you as anything else, unless I use the full title of Dragon Blade.”

“You could simply call me-”

Eli held up a hand quickly, a slightly pained look on his face. “I will not,” he stated firmly. “Now, you should go. Razor Edge is waiting.” Eli nodded curtly, then turned on his heel and walked away.

Theo snickered as they continued through the double doors, elbows still linked. “I don’t think you’re ever going to get him to call you anything other than Master Blade,” he teased, pulling his arm free to cross to his locker.

“Drake. How hard is it to call me Drake?” came the reply from the other side of the lockers.

Theo laughed again, and then sniffed faux-haughtily. “It simply isn’t done,” he said in a manner very near to Eli’s, quickly shucking the suit he always wore into work, replacing it with his much tighter spandex suit of brown and gold. He was making sure the bear paw insignia that covered his chest was centered when Drake rounded the lockers. He was already dressed in his super gear, the all-black uniform clinging, showing every ridge and ripple of lean muscle that his worn-in jeans and t-shirt had been hiding minutes previously, across his chest the three long silver slashes that were his emblem. Theo noted sourly that his symbol was perfectly centered.

Behind his full-face mask of black, Drake chuckled. “Of course you are still fussing. Who is waiting for you to stop primping?”

Theo sniffed delicately. “Slipstream, but she can hardly complain if I take a little long once in a while.” Before Drake could give the snarky retort he knew was coming, Theo continued pointedly, “Razor Edge, however…”

Drake started backing away, toward a discreet red door on the other side of the locker room. “Well, since you are so anxious to be rid of me…” he started slyly. Drake laughed quietly when a hand shot out and snagged his wrist but didn’t resist when Theo dragged him back until they stood toe-to-toe.

“Fly safe,” Drake murmured, the mask muffling his voice slightly. He felt deft fingers loosening his mask, tugging it up enough to expose the lower half of his face.

Theo kissed him, briefly but firmly, gray eyes light and happy though he was only smiling slightly when he pulled back. “You be careful,” he said seriously. “You know how Razor can be.”

Drake hummed an affirmation as he leaned in to steal another kiss. “Do not be late for dinner,” he teased, and then turned and strode to the door, reaffixing his mask as he went, leaving his lover still fussing with his suit.
