skies are so much.

nothing exciting happens anymore. my days are spent sweltering in the blistering heat; watching a 41 year old man dry hump inanimate objects and speaking to a 63 year old woman in a secret language of facial expressions and gestures that only we can understand is not my ideal vacation. lately my nights have been spent arguing with a man who is ( Read more... )

you know what i love ? i mean really love ??? when the sky is partially fogged over. you can still see into what seems to be oblivion, yet it seems like it was painted on. i sometimes think of speaking of the beauty of the sky aloud, when i am in a group of people, but never do.

that's just because people wouldn't get it. lots of times at school i will say things that i notice and people just shrug and give you an odd look. i like to say it regardless of how others will act. it is my belief that more people should notice nuances and that if they pay attention to the wonders all around them, they will better appreciate everything else. i know, i know; i'm such a damned hippie.

i need to read more good books before i can write a good book. also, if i were to write a book, it would likely have little to no plot, just a bunch of wonderfully obscure descriptions and actions and their converse reactions, all of them combining in an ending that few would understand and few would care about. the other day, randy told me that he enjoys reading my insignificant significances or something like that. i like that take on what i think about. i think i would probably do something like that. and really, who wants that?

there's gotta be. how many profs at our school have written books? like dozens! and we go to a small school. imagine if we went to a larger school or a smart people school where everyone and their mom wrote a book. now how many of those books are actually worth reading? none lately.
i went to the library the other day and desperately wished i knew the name of some book i wanted to read. i couldn't think of any. i stood in front of the new releases shelf for 25 minutes and there didn't seem to be anything that piqued my interest. secretly, i hoped someone nosy would sidle up to me and offer a suggestion. eventually i just decided to revisit the classics to notice little details and symbols and see if there is a greater theme that i might have already overlooked. currently i am working on the catcher in the rye. next i plan on seeking out 1984 and then one of the greatest books ever written, "the phantom tollbooth". if you haven't read it, you seriously should; i'm pretty sure it changed my life.
