PT & OT and random health babbles

So I have been doing physical therapy and occupational therapy recently to address the weakness in my triceps and hip flexors.

Now that I have been able to work with them we are getting a better idea of all the really weak spots and hopefully after a year of me doing these exercises we might see *some* improvement.

One thing I gotta remember is that they stress more on giving your muscles more recovery time versus lower activity time. (Though right now, most of the exercises are about doing extremely slow reps for about two to three minutes each. This is supposed to help focus on muscle recruitment.) Basically when you are doing something and you are shaky, it is you muscle fibers constantly grabbing, fatiguing, letting go, and then grabbing again. So our goal is to really focus on those smaller areas to boost their endurance.

It is surprising how much it wears me out and how much pain I have been having at night. The areas we work just sit their burning but with the sensation that if I could just peel off the skin it would give me a break from it.

When GBS first hit, this was 24/7 because it was the nerves going wild as they were regrowing and reattaching and reforming their connections. So yay for possible growth and there might be light at the end of the tunnel. But it really amps up the insomnia and then I have had a few nights where I had to bump back up on my hydrocodone to one of my previous amounts.

Also found out that they would be interested in seeing if they could help with the occipital neuralgia so when I meet with my pain doc in early Jan, gonna ask for the docs orders to give it a shot.

I need to schedule a ketamine day again but... yerg. That last bout was rough. It was really just the experience. I just am so high strung and it is basically four solid hours of hallucinating swirling anxiety and the stuff hit me like a sack of bricks. Recovery was still around 10 days so at least that seems to be consistent. Schedule is just getting pretty busy for January so not sure when to try and slip it in, when I know all the other stuffs are going on.

I need to go get another blood panel done and see what the next steps are for my vitamin D deficiency should be.

I need to arrange for a dermatologist visit about my face. Still haven't figured out what the deal is. However! Stumbled across an interesting combination. Been using a Pond's dark skin lightening cream that has helped a bit and thankfully doesn't feel like fire when I put it on. Then I found a salt bath from CVS that has a variety of oils and stuffs. I gave the bath a try after I had been using the Ponds cream solid like 3-4 times a day (if not more) and then I did a hot soak with the bath. I dunked my head under a few times (to try and get all the areas of the skull I have issues with) and after the bath I rinsed off and went to brush my teeth at the mirror. My eyes and mouth area had gone ashy/dusty and all of the trouble spots were SUPER smooth and for like 3 days after, I had skin that was finally healing up. Then it went back to normal. So there must be some combination of all that with their ingredients that has an answer. Just gotta nail it down.

Also used another cream for my face issues and it worked great! But it turned my lips numb and blurred my vision if I used it around my eyes.

So at least that gives me three products, out of the 30+ I've tried, to review ingredients of and figure out options.

Previously my doc thought it was rosacia (sp?) but that Med just made the problem worse, it all got cracked and bleeding.

Looking forward to getting back into our walking/jogging. But man, gonna be pumped if this PT works and I can get my hips working to go faster...
