Ashley showed up out of nowhere last night! She was showering went I left for my bike ride, but she appears to be gone now.

Well, how often do your paternal grandparents and mother's girlfriend have dinner together? What is the average number of people present at such dinners?

Unless they happen to be in the same professional society, or hobbyist club, or what have you, I'm pretty sure that it'll be a very small set of people.

Well, it was for Megan's graduation last year. My grandparents came up north for it. Since Dad's significant other was coming, it only made sense for Mom's to come as well.

It was a special occassion, yes, but it was also one of those cases where anyone who was family had to come, and Debbie is family.

I have to imagine that even just this set of circumstances has happened to at least a few other people, out of six billion. Maybe they haven't all gone as well as they did for us.

Actually, my maternal grandmother wanted to come up, too, but couldn't make it. She was, however, making plans to come up with her very good friend Randy, who is openly gay. That would have been even more interesting.

Debbie was a nervous wreck, but my grandparents were quite friendly, so.
