Why hiii. I`ve been thinking of you quite often these days, mostly because I`m concocting a letter and I want it to be purrfect so that you`re bound to reply. Eh.
I`m like whoa while reading everything, and I`ll probably balk and read it again ^^. It`s all so fascinating it makes me want to go there and live it, though it`s quite impossible for me to even attempt to study in any American college/uni, not to mention med school. Money, distance et al asides, I`m striking in my anti-talent when chemistry is concerned, though biology is quite interesting and I used to study anatomy in Art School. But. Still. What you tell here is simply fascinating and very Grey's Anatomy :D - I`ll have to squeeze more information out of you via letters, pal.
This makes me want to go to the States and visit you and see NY City and go to a musical and and and spend hours talking about fandom and learning Farsi.
I hope you`re truly happy, girl. You`re a true role-model.
JULES. I owe you an apology, because I did see your comment about re-sending my address and I never replied to it. I am sorry! I'm going to re-send it in a private message. I think at this point you might be better off sending it to my New York address because I'm only here for about another month or so and the postal system here in Grenada is not really reliable (and I do not know if the campus mail box changes for students per term, so if it gets here late, its fate would be unknown).
You know, I COULD visit you whilst in Europe this summer...JUST SAYING.
(And pspsshshh you with your professional translating - especially recently with all those big projects? a book?! - are so amazing, the role-model here is YOU)
Ohhh so wait. You`ll finish the term or the year in a month? Or why will you be in NY? I`m just slightly confused, but no worries - I`ll let you know when the letter is done and you tell me where to send it :-)
Well if you`re getting your ass in Europe this very summer, then do the following: LET ME KNOW IN ADVANCE. You`re more than welcome to come to romania *g*, I`d be delighted to play the guide!!! Or. I could go to basically anywhere involving low cost flights. That is: Hungary, Germany, France, Italy, England or Spain. Basically.
THIS WOULD BE SO AWESOME.
And then we`ll see who`s more role-model. And you`ll bring me Farsi books. Aaanddd tell me how much is a flight to NYC and if I could stay with you for a week >.>
My first term ends May 11th! Then I fly to New York (to be w/ my parents for a month and a half) until July when I have to be in Prague. My second term starts up again in August and lasts until December.
I could try to visit you for a weekend while I'm in Prague. Or you could visit me in Prague for a weekend. I'm planning on visiting my French family the first week of August, so I'd be busy then. What are you doing the first week of July? Want to go to Italy or Spain?
This is a beayootiful post. I'm glad you took the time to write it, it's nice to feel all up-to-date with your life.
It's funny, I have a couple of other LJ friends who were or are in med school, and they all seem to love it too. It sounds a thousand times more intense than undergrad, and I've always perceived it to be, like... on a totally different plane of academic rigor. I'm wondering if it's the satisfaction of hyper-productivity that makes it enjoyable or what, because I definitely get that (on the rare occasions when I am productive).
I'M GONNA START RUNNING TOO. I bought running shoes last weekend. I haven't bought new running shoes since middle school, lmao. I'm going to run at night, I think.
Omg, I am so excited for you, you amazing you! I'm so glad you're making every little thing work to your advantage. It looks beautiful and exciting! And I'm MORE than a little jealous over Prague! I still can't get over the bit about your island family. Must be awesome to have a little taste of home :)
Good luck Tia thanks for finally updating, update morreee soon!
Yay, it's so nice to hear that things are mostly well and that you're loving school! Congratulations again, that's so fantastic :). It seems like such a great place too, your pictures are gorgeous! I'm also very intrigued by the running. I did running/walking (I can't say it was all running) in undergrad and a little bit like two years ago and I really liked it... I'm not sure why I always seem to stop, exercise in general always seems to get pushed to the side when things get busy for me. Alas! Perhaps I will try to take it up again....
P.S. I hope that your friend is alright! My best friend developed acute appendicitis last year and his actually burst... it was a really horrific experience for him, he was in the hospital for a long time. Hopefully they were able to get your friend into surgery before that happened though!
