I sit here in one of the many libraries in my city enjoying the view. A, I'm sorry your mom is having such a hard time, and as someone who's been there I don't think there's much you can do for her. All of you lost someone dear to you, but her perspective is much different--he was the man she loved, not her father. She has many more years of memories and many different kinds of grief to process

I think just being there for your Mom is the best thing you can do. It wont be an easy day and lots of tears and pain will surface. I remember all too clearly how the first anniversary of my Mum's death was. The 2nd wasn't easy, but slightly easier.

Just let her know you care. Even though she knows, she'll still appreciate being reminded. Good luck :)
