This was beautiful. And you made me cry.

I loved Akihito's grandmother.

Thanks. I always think that Akihito has a relative somewhere behind him like his grandmother. It tends to run in the family. :)

Beautiful imagery... I loved the butterfly at the end. Very evoking. ^_^

Thank you. The butterfly seemed an appropriate way to end a story about a Japanese wake.

Very sad, but certainly plausible. The best scene for me was when Asami held Akihito in his lap regardless of decorum and grieve in his own way.

The added butterfly was a good touch. If I remember correctly, the Japanese calls them 'soul butterflies' that guides the spirit to the afterlife. The Chinese also has a similar myth in which the dead's soul turns into a butterfly and flits off to the after world.

Great job on the angst. Feilong is all heart. Thank you for sharing!

Ah, I didn't know the Chinese had a similar myth. I think it's very beautiful. Thank you.

I think Feilong still cares enough about the two of them, mixed with his newfound maturity, that he would act like this. At least, I hope so. If anyone else died he might not be so kind though.

I feel like I've filled my angst quote for a few months now.

Thank you, and sorry for the tears.

I have to do death fics at least once a year. So I probably won't have the urge to kill Aki again until next June. ^^;
