I've read most of the Anita Blake stories. I totally get you about it getting weird. The last book I read of the series was when Anita went to Las Vegas...
I like stories about the fair folk and I really liked this story. I can see Asami in this roll with Akihito as the mortal lover who saves him (with the power everybody keeps saying he has).
I'm guessing Asami's mother is Queen of the Unseelie and for him to finally step away it did take Aki's courage and love to allow him to do it.
There were a lot of little details that I really liked, the descriptions of the light fairies and dark fey. I laughed at the flaming ogre trying to find the lake to put himself out in. I liked that Asami did give Aki his everything and Aki really did follow Asami to 'the abyss' yet brought them both back again.
Thanks! The love-talker myth is an interesting one. I think it was made up by guys who wanted to scare girls away from the handsome devil-may-care type of lover. XD But modern day takes often switch things up and they're really fun to read.

I haven't read any of those, though I read about the first ten Anita Blakes (they got a little too weird for me XD).

I saw a lot of images with this one while I was writing, like tiny fairies clinging to Aki's hair, and I wanted to share them.

Oh, and I know you're a fan of the Harry Dresden series as I am - so I'm sure Toot is waiting there somewhere to help (hehe)!
