I just seem to be getting richer and richer this week and I haven't even been paid yet for my new job. Not until the end of September/beginning of October I think it is. I was so broke at the end of the last month/start of this month and had to ask pops to lend me a bit of cash to get me through.

everyone says that about the dole, but as you say you ar e entitled to it and - shock horror - the government supported you financially just when you needed it most. Oh my god, the benefit system worked. by accident, but nonetheless...
