Ohhhhh Canada...

So I was watching some Whose Line vids last night and I got to wondering. Why are the Canada gags always centered around Colin and not Ryan? I know he was born in the US and lives here now, but he did go to Canada at a pretty young age and basically grew up there. Colin wasn't born in Canada either and IIRC he was around the same age as Ryan was ( Read more... )

Well Ryan is still an American citizen since he was born here. Plus Colin is more of a defender of Canada than Ryan was. But there was an article where Ryan put where he felt part Canadian so there you go. Just one more thing to connect Ryan and Colin together ;)

I was thinking of that too... Ryan is an American citizen since he was born in the US. I wonder if he's also considered a Canadian citizen since his parents were born there (I think... anyone know?) and he was there as a kid. I don't know how it works for Colin... born in Scotland so he'd be a citizen there... is he a Canadian citizen also?

OK, I am spending way too much time thinking about this! lol. :)

It’s an interesting thing, isn’t it?

Like anoel said, he’s a US citizen by birth, but the way he talks in interviews, his loyalties fall pretty equally on both sides of the border. And even though he’s lived in Toronto and L.A., he keeps coming back to that stretch of coast between Seattle and Vancouver, BC, right on the borderline.

Sometimes I think he considers himself a citizen of the Pacific NW more than anything.
