On the seventh day of Christmas.... 2018 version

Next 'part' of this only slightly forsaken dialog series. This is the one that I wrote years ago and forgot about it, because it really is just 'blah' and kind of depressing and I didn't know what to do with it. How it spawned the rest of this silliness, I have no idea. Nothing awful, just no chuckles are had here. Unless you are a parent and ' ( Read more... )

Oh, Sap. The first instance of "I hate you!" *gives Duo a hug* This too shall pass. Wait until the kid learns to hot-wire the car. ;-)

I might or might not have written this after an altercation of my own. >_> I am admitting to nothing. But yeah.... OUCH!

Geez, with all your hype, I was expecting Duo having to tell the kid his mom had died or something. ^^

Potential bunny: it would be seasonally appropriate to write them having to tell the kid about Santa.  I'd be curious whether they choose to perpetuate the myth or just get the bubble-bursting out of the way early...

Oh, I imagine Duo would go all out... right down to reindeer tracks on the roof. While Heero rolls his eyes and insists that a kid really should NOT still believe at fifteen... LOL

routhier says:

if duo's having this hard of a go with time out, how's he posssssibly gonna handle puberty?!? i mean... *his* experience with puberty was to swipe a gundam and go on a rampage! he's gonna have quuuuuiiiiiiite the adventure readjusting to whatever the kids are up to these days when seth gets there!

that'd probably be a pretty dark story in the making! duo and heero comparing notes about their terrible childhoods, getting in a deeply angsty mood, then trying to work themselves out of the muck so they can edit things up a bit for the kiddo. ...duo's got a loooong haul ahead of him, yo!

Sometimes I think Hilde had the right idea. *cough* I was actually a cross between Duo and Hilde... spoiler extraordinaire and yet fully aware I sucked at the job. We bulled forward....

Aww. It was good - after all your complaining and saying how bad it was I was nervous about reading it. And it was good - not festive or amusing, yes but bad, no!

Try ringing the emergency services by accident 10 mins after you could have left work because you're trying to set up the "shut for Christmas" message... now that was bad.

Little things change your perspective...

Ouch! I hate when that happens! They won't just take 'Never mind! Ooooops!' I hope you weren't there forever...

I fought with the phone system for 45 mins because I'd locked out the message part by hanging up when I shouldn't have. Then I gave up and went home after switching on the standard night message - I reckon if anyone calls they'll get the idea. But I'll probably have to explain to senior management on Jan 2nd - although they were pretty thin on the ground yesterday.

Poor Duo. It's a whole different kind of heartbreak than breaking up with Hilde, isn't it? *pets him*
