On the twelfth day of Christmas.... Grand Finale

Dec 25, 2019 20:34

Ring the bells or break out the booze, because we’ve done it one last time. Christmas day with another twelve days of Christmas (hopefully) successfully behind us. I’ve been saying for years I needed to start these things sooner than I have, and I think this year is a personal record ( Read more... )

That's absolutely a fitting end to ION. I'm confident Sunny approves and loves it. You did Duo pretty well, for all of not having read ION. Good job all round, hon. ^___^

It is definitely a follow-on idea from Duo's portrait of Alehya (sp?) Winter and her many masks. ^__^

Major hugs to you for hanging in there and keeping the Gundam Express rolling one last time. Love you, Offspring. ^__^

I'm going to agree with lavendarlizard here, this was really well done. And I personally know how hard it is to write ala Sunhawk16, I've done it once and swore never to do it again! But you caught Relena really well, she was never a Duo fan and even with him doing her portrait, she still wasn't going to be a fan.

I want to thank you, I know this had to be so very hard for you, because you lost your mom, where we lost a friend. But, as strange as it is, time does heal, and hopefully you will look back on this and know that you did her proud.

Thank you again for doing this, and know that everyone who reads this, even if they don't say anything, are thanking you as well. Because this is closure for so very many of us.

I'm pretty sure that Sunny is smiling down on you and hopefully the rest of us.

That was wonderful. It seems like a good end, and you did a fantastic job writing this one. In my opinion, you don't even have to have read the Ion series to appreciate this vignette - it stands well on its own.

I never met your mom in person. I read her stories and followed her 12 days ritual. I would read some of her postings, commentary, and the dialogue she exchanged with others. But that was the extent of what I knew of her. Yet, I always felt she was a very special person, from just what I read and saw in the fandom. She was well liked, loved even, by many. And my heart is heavy for you and everyone else whose lives' she touched.

Thank you for fulfilling her request to close out this last year of the decade with a final 12 days post. I will miss these. I am so glad that she shared her wonderful stories, and that I had an opportunity to be a small part of her fandom life.

May she be at peace.

Of course the last one had to be Ion.

Thank you Offspring. For writing Ion. For posting it. For the other eleven days. For fighting with the weird world of LJ. For doing this for a bunch of strangers - slightly strange strangers, at that!

I hope this hasn't been too painful for you. I wouldn't have blamed you if you hadn't been able to cope with this on top of everything. You are your mother's daughter.

I hope life is good to you in the future.

Sun's Offspring (Faithful Daughter), THANK YOU SO MUCH! As I stated for the other vignette, this was my Hubby and my favorite series that Sunny did. You did this ending justice and her proud. I'm not crying right now like I should be. I'm feeling a closure that I know we all needed. My prayer is that you will also continue to heal from this loss. My Hubby lost his father last year, so the loss of your mother only a few months later hit me so hard since I had been absent from the Fandom due to focusing on my original novel series. I saved the 12 months from 2018 so I'd have them since I missed them, and now I have her last 2019 12th also with my comments to keep as the parting gift your mother left for us that you so wonderfully gave to us. I hope that all of those still in this GW Fandom will continue to keep in touch with me by Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, my website, or my email. You are ALWAYS in my heart... and Sun's stories live in my heart as something I needed to get through life sometimes and to be brave enough to write what ( ... )
