PART 2
BECOMING FANFICTION WRITER AND WRITING FANFICTIONS
TINA: How and when did you decide to be a fanfic author?
KIMMY: Um…way back in my first year of secondary school (high school). I used to read fanfiction online back then, and I started writing a Yugioh fanfic. My friend suggested that I post it to AFF (adultfanfiction). Since then I’ve been writing.
TINA: What made you to sit down and actually write something?
KIMMY: I loved reading. And from that, I turned to writing. I always loved stories.
TINA: What is the first fanfic you completed?
KIMMY: Um…shit. I can’t remember. It was a Yugiohfanfic.
TINA: How did you get your idea for your first fanfic?
KIMMY: From watching anime and reading other stories. And because it was something I personally wanted to read.
TINA: Have you had any prior experience of writing before your first fanfic?
KIMMY:Yup. I used to write random stories before that.
TINA: Have you ever plagued by doubts on your storyline?
KIMMY: All the time.
TINA: How did you promote your fanfic to readers?
KIMMY: I just post to jaehodetox. No other way.
TINA: Have you ever been anxious about how the readers receive your story?
KIMMY: All the time.
TINA: Thoughts on how you felt when you see the first comment on the first story? Do remember who is the first commenter?
KIMMY: Really happy. Nope.
TINA: How do you prepare yourself before writing a fanfic?
KIMMY: No preparation. I just force myself to write. Or get inspiration to write. Either of the two.
TINA: Do you work out plot line or do you prefer to see where your ideas or inspiration take you?
KIMMY: I’m more of a discovery writer. 90% of the time I start writing something and hope it takes form.
TINA: When and how does your inspiration or muse come to you?
KIMMY: It just comes. Well, I sit and hope it comes and make it come.
TINA: What is the weirdest place you were struck by inspiration for your fanfic? Did you write the plot?
KIMMY: A lot of my plots came about when I was bathing lol.
TINA: How much research do you do for your story?
KIMMY: Depends on the story. Burner forced me to do a lot of research.
TINA: What is the easiest part of writing?
KIMMY: I wish I knew.
TINA: What is the hardest part of writing a story?
KIMMY: Everything.
TINA: The writer’s worst nightmare the dreaded writer’s block.
When is the worst writer’s block you ever had? How did you overcome it?
KIMMY: Probably on entering medical school. I had so many new experiences and life itself was too busy for me to bother writing. I decided to pursue my dream to become an author.
TINA: Any useful tips on how to overcome the writer’s block?
KIMMY: Honestly, just write. I’ve learned it’s bullshit to sit and wait for inspiration to take you. Trying to write a book taught me that. You’ve got to write and keep writing, even if you think you’re writing utter shit and you want to delete it. Don’t. Keep going. Write shit.
TINA: Have you written any collaboration with other author’s? If yes name of the fanfic.
KIMMY: Nope.
TINA: How do you describe your writing style? Do you think you have your own personal writing style?
KIMMY: I don’t know how to explain my writing style, but I think I do have my own writing style now.
TINA: How do you think you have evolved creatively throughout the years? Do you notice any change in the way you write?
KIMMY: I’ve gotten better at writing and plotting. But I still think I have a ways to go.
TINA: How important are readers and their comments?
KIMMY: Very. It’s like working really hard on something, and when it’s finished, no one says that they like it. Even if they do, they don’t say it. And you, the creator, sit there, thinking that no one likes what you’ve creator, that maybe it’s not good enough, or there’s something wrong with it for no one to bother commenting.
TINA: I have been a silent reader for few months before taking the steps to comment..
Any words for silent readers?
KIMMY: Just drop a comment once in a while. Comments make any artist happy. It really does.
TINA: Do you read other yunjae fanfics? If yes name of the fanfic you loved?
KIMMY: Yeah. Um my favourties were On the Red Couch, SO much Mine, Godsend, Jung Yunho MD, The lawverse, a good few others I can’t remember right now.
TINA: Are you friends with any other author’s?
KIMMY: I used to be. But not anymore.
TINA: How do you make your stories standout when there are heaps of other stories with similar plot lines?
KIMMY: I have no idea. I just hope people like it.
TINA: Has anyone stole your story and published under their name?
KIMMY: Nope.
TINA: Thoughts on others stealing your work?
KIMMY: It’s disgusting.
TINA: How do you manage your time between your daily activities and updating stories?
KIMMY: I don’t. I barely have time these days to update my stories. It’s not really time management more that I’m really too busy.
TINA: DO you have any favorite time of the day to write stories?
KIMMY: After ten pm.
DETAILED INSIGHT INTO OUR FAV STORIES:
TINA: Every one of your completed stories are in every recommendation list..how do u feel that your stories are well loved and recommended for others to read.
KIMMY: I'm really happy that people enjoyed it and still are. I honestly...cringe at reading some of my older stories now. Like I can’t. There s so much that needs to be rewritten and changed but i ve been trying to ignore that feeling.
TINA: Few words about the story line and what inspired " KISS AND DON'T TELL "?
KIMMY: Okay so kiss and don't tell came about when i was...still in high school / secondary school...and it was a day without internet. I was bored and ended up looking through all my jaejoong pics. Back then i used to formulate plots fron pictures so i wanted to do another model jaejoong. The whole sex club thing came from there. The name of the fic...well...that was all i could think of at that time.
TINA: Few words on the famous fanfic ever "THE PATH OF GOLD"??
KIMMY: Umm...it was my first long chaptered yunjae fic. I didn’t even know the plot line until twenty chapters or so in. I'm kind of embarrassed over our path of gold and the writing. But i did have fun writing it. And the soul mate part. And i did meet a lot of my readers from that fic :)
TINA: WE ALSO HAD FUN READING IT..IN MY OPINION IT IS REALLY GOLD..CAN’T BELIEVE YOU ARE EMBARRASSED ABOUT IT…MOVING ON
TINA: Tell us about "TWICE OF FATE AND FOEVER A PRIOMISE” ??
KIMMY: This was my first yunjae. Terrible name because i'm shit at naming stuff. Looking at it now it’s more creepy than sexy. Stalker yunho in a grey sweater - it was all because of that picture of him.
TINA: Coming to your ongoing fics .. Please tell us your plans about them.
KIMMY: So i feel really bad about not being to write as much as i want to. But im bone tired these days, so tired that i cant even stay up to study. So when thos rotation is over i ll have a tiny bit of time to write. I ll be working on burner and also the second chance. I reallllly realllllly want to write a taekook.
TINA: Which pairing u like to write the most of all the pairing in your fics?
KIMMY: Um...I love writing jaejoong. Its easy for me to do his character in almost all of my fics. Writing....since I’ve been mostly writing yunjae fics id say yunjae, but if i had a chance to write more it d probably be harry draco. I think taekook might become a favourite soon, if i ever come around to writing a fic with that pairing.
EVERYBODY'S FAVORITE SMUT:
TINA: So tells us why are we so interested to read the taboo topics when it comes to yunjae?
KIMMY: I hate reading rape, so I tend not to read anything with it. I don’t condone that. Incest and bdsm I fine with reading. It’s because they’re stories, and the characters are attractive, and well, we like it?
TINA: How difficult or easy is writing smut?
KIMMY: It’s hella difficult.
TINA: Do you blush or get embarrassed while writing smut?
KIMMY: Nope.
TINA: How do you write the sex scene? What is the inspiration?
KIMMY: I just write. I try to imagine it, and imagine positions, and then rewrite.
TINA: Have you ever watched GV before writing a smut scene
KIMMY: Nope.
TINA: Has any family member or friends have ever walked on you while writing a sex scene?
KIMMY: My two cousins.
TINA: Thoughts after writing your first ever sex scene?
KIMMY: I can’t remember. :/
TINA: What is the secret of writing a sex scene that turns on your readers?
KIMMY: Um…I really don’t know.
TINA: Still writing or you stopped now?
KIMMY: I’m still writing. Hopefully.
TINA: Future yunjae projects?
KIMMY: To finish Burner.
TINA: Have you anytime in future have plans on deleting your journal?
KIMMY: Nope.
TINA: Any words for the readers?
KIMMY:: I love you. Thank you for always reading my work. And waiting. I’m so very grateful.
