Oh Jorge! Was this the same laptop that you got when I was a senior? The new one you brought to school and played around with??
The LCD looks bad.. :,( I think it can still be fixed but will be very very, (did i mention very?) pricey. I think. Mine has a yellow line on the right side. :-S
lcds are the most fragile part (aside from the hard drive and cpu) of the laptop. fortunately, you can actually get a new laptop instead and swap hard disks and then salvage the rest of the laptop parts to laptop repair centers for some money. i'd get a same brand laptop. if it's worth the repair, why not, but still i think buying a new laptop (why not a macbook? with extra aluminum coating perhaps?) is much better than just repairing it. pero it's completely up to you. :D safety tip #1, keep laptops out of reach of children who don't know how things can break when they fall. put it in a locked drawer or somewhere they don't go..pero if they like playing with it, sana alam nilang ingatan.
thanks. i guess i should buy a new one. :(( wah. but first i have to earn some money. then again, di naman ako yung nakasira.... hmmm.. *evil grin* hwehehehe.

I think they file-share. It's simple, get the two laptops connected (via network/ wifi/ usb cable/ or something) tapos copyahan na lang ng files. Or you can also burn a back up DVD and transfer files via DVD. or you can buy a laptop and have it customized so that you can use the 20gig hard drive AND the 100 gig hard drive, of the new computer).
Here are some sites I've seen where people sell their laptop parts or the entire laptop: tipidpc.com. pinoyexchange. ebay philippines. or on your multiply.com website (by providing pics or something).
I also know one laptop repair center which buys salvage parts: Shopwise, Cubao, ask around na lang I forgot the name of the store. I wouldn't sell it though if I were you. It can be used as a backup in case something goes wrong with any of your other computers.
