I really really like this. I like seeing Colby's struggle to figure out where he belongs and the glimpse of what might have been. Very well done!

First off, if your username is a reference to Sandman? /LOVES/ (Death is so awesome.)

Second, ladygray99 pimped you so thanks to her for dragging me over. I don't read much fic, but she has good taste (and no I'm not saying that because she likes my fic LOL but because she's a good writer herself) so here I am ( ... )

Yes, it is! You're the first person to pick up on that. *hands over a cookie* My personal journal is also a reference to Death (agardenafter). I've got mad Gaiman love.

FWIW, as a former cellist, that joke is always funny - bad as it is. /grins/It’s probably in my top five of bad music jokes, so I couldn’t resist slipping it in. Plus, every high school boy who is in band tells it. At least, they did in my high school ( ... )

I second numb3rs100. It seems a little hard and first but once you get into it it bulks up your writing muscles like nothing else. It's like literary wind sprints or power lifting.

*laughs* I'm notoriously bad at drabbling. My beta was cracking up just think about me writing one but... I think I can give the double or triple drabbles a shot.

And if this story continues into Colby/Charlie territory I'll post it over a red_gumballs. *nods* I'm just not sure if it'll continue -- I sort of know where Colby ends up afterwards, but I don't know if it's a story, if that makes any sense at all.

On a purely random note, somewhere there should be an award for fandom fairy godmother. You've been utterly amazing and I just have no words for how welcome you and everyone else have made me feel.

Child. This was amazing. Where have you been hiding??

*runs away to reread*

I ditto ladygray99. Come play with us at numb3rs_slash! Also, if you're a big Colby fan, there's a huge market for Colby stories over at savecolby.

Thank you so much! I do adore Colby, though I was a little hesitant to spam everyone's flist with this story, but the next one I'll cross post over there.

Also, Hotch looks so lovely in your icon. I can't wait for the new episodes.

Oh, Brava! I love the thunder motif. And that Chopin is one of my favorite pieces.

I love the moodiness of this, Colby both tightly constrained and lonely. :Sigh.: Poor kid.

I'll add my voice to all the others begging for more from you! *applauds*

Welcome!

ET fix my bloody typo. Sorry.

Being linked to the Chopin piece was really the breakthrough in writing this story. It just fit and started the wheels turning in new ways. I'm really glad you enjoyed this story, and I hope whatever I do next won't disappoint. Thank you for commenting!

P.S. Would that be Garcia in your icon?
