omg.omg.omg. You have no idea how much I wanted to see these 2 in a oneshot or smthing since reading HG2. They seemed like such a pair :) I;d got a feeling that if haymitch had the right mentor, these 2 would have been like katniss/peeta :( But this one is so sad... But i kinda expected it :) HG is a sad sad game. I like the relationship u made them have here, it seems real and feasible, especially for smone like Haymitch. Thumbs up!

Haha, same here! The sad lack of Haymitch/Maysilee fic was what really drove me to write this :)

I love this so much! it's sad, the things between Maysilee and Haymitch. with this story, well it's clear why Haymitch doesn't go married after all this time.
and I think it's one of the reason why he makes Peeta and Katniss become a couple. to remembering how he and Maysilee back then and to laugh at Capitol idiotic games.

Yes, I think Haymitch was never really the husband-type to being with but after experiencing the Hunger Games .... any ideas of family and marriage must be ridiculous.

Wow. I thought I was good, but this blows me out of the water something fierce.

It's so sad, you know, and so very, very like Haymitch. You've captured the character wonderfully, which always leaves me impressed when I see other people do it, because I'm always the one who goes OOCing all over the show.

I think I've taken a few liberties with Haymitch here, because this Haymitch is in a different environment from the Haymitch we've seen in The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. Characterization is something I've been working on lately, so I'm happy it seemed to be in-character. :)
